COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

Slightly hazy golden color, with a thick, tight sticky head. Nice retention. Fruity Belgian yeast with notes of banana and candi sugar yields to pineapple and mango. Flavor is pine and resin, slight woodiness and spice. Balanced malt flavor, enough to keep the hops fom running wild. Alcohol warming on the slightly dry finish.

Bottle. A- Juicy, tropical fruits, stone fruits, tangerines, citrus, hoppy, wheat, spices. A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Bitter, juicy, tangerines, grapefruit, mango, peach, subtle spices. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, juicy bitter finish. O- I was hoping for a lot bigger Belgian White presence in here but it was definitely an IPA with subtle spice areas from the Belgian yeast. Tons and tons of tropical and stone fruits in the aroma and taste. Biggest turn off was some mold spores growing on the cap when we popped it. Good buy for 22oz bottle for $5 and right at the enjoy by date but probably wouldnít get it again unless it was super fresh.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear golden amber with creamy off-white head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruits, floral notes, cereal and toasted malts, Belgian yeast notes, and faint spice. Flavor is sharp hop bitterness atop a dry, mellow malt profile that gradually smooths out with the Belgian yeast esters buried beneath the lingering hop notes. Medium body and carbonation.

Aroma is clove, lemongrass, honey and slight earthiness. Taste is a very well balanced malt/hop profile.also yeast and slight funk. Taste is like aroma with additional sweet maltiness, slight sour notes and light tanin. Appearance is a slightly hazy gold with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

Solid beer and an interesting idea. Fruity yeast notes overpower malt and hops ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big Witbier aroma. Kind of overpowers the IPA citrus aroma. I do get a little bit of the cirrus aroma at the end. I would consider this more of a witbier than an IPA. The finishing citrus hops compliments this beer wonderfully.

Love the bazooka joe bubble gum aroma, then you pour a pint of pure golden goodness. And get a fruity, hoppy drink of this IPA. Love this beer!!
