COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

On tap at Rueben's, golden pour with a thick off-white head. Tastes hoppy with a bit of citrus. Palate is smooth and refreshing.

Bomber into snifter glass, faint amber-hued golden color with off-white head. Aroma of herbal straw, malt sweetness, pepper, faint spices, fruity and citrus/pine hops. Taste adds notes of white pepper, yeast, grain, lemon, candy sugar and pine hop bitterness. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation, crisp, dry with pine/citrus bitter finish. More Belgian pale ale after 3 months but still quite tasty.

Draft at Liberty Station. Pours clear gold with a fizzy white head. Tastes like straw, citrus, caramel, very smooth, some dry pine, light boozyness. Medium body and low carbonation. Smells like caramel, sweet citrus, smooth alcohol, light pine.

Pale, clear golden color with thin white head. Aroma of hops and a strong presence of fruity Belgian ale. A bit of grapefruit flavor. Definitely more IPA than Belgian.

650ml bottle purchased at Knightly Spirits in Orlando, Florida. Clear golden, very large white head, excellent lacing, very good retention. Aroma of citrus, yeast, light sweetness. Flavour is of lemons, yeast, lots of citrus, lightly bitter. Bitter mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, bitter, lots of citrus and yeast. Itís ok but Stone isnít my favourite maker of Belgian ales.

Love this style of ipa, where the Belgian yeast gives an added complexity to a great ipa, maybe not quite as good as raging bitch, but still a stunning beer.

Had on tap at Stone Liberty Station in San Diego. Pours a yellow light golden. Thin white to no head. Aroma is yeasty. Grassy slight funk. Really nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650 ml bottle. Pours a copper color with moderate foamy retentive head. Aromas of tropical fruit, Belgian golden ale yeast, and toffee. Flavors of oranges, peach, pine, resin and light caramel. Nice.

Iíd prefer this to have a much bolder aroma. Peaches, mango and sweet grapefruit, dough, caramel, orange. Tastier than it smells but not high end stuff. Subdued sweetness before getting pummeled by some mean bitterness. Pine sizzle, tang, unsweetened grapefruit. Dry. Well carbonated. Pretty good but need to go up against others to figure out where it really ranks. The last half tasted better and was more enjoyable after I stopped analyzing.
