COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

Pours a murky yellow with a decent white head. Starts off piney followed by Belgian yeast with a bitter aftertaste.

650ml bottle at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki, courtesy of Konstantinos. Unclear golden color with off white head. Hoppy aroma, grassy, citrusy, light pine, light spicy and some yeasty notes when it gets warmer. Sweet, heavy bitter taste like aroma. Light to medium body oily with soft carbonation.

12oz bottle pours a clear dark yellow color. Getting some banana, biscuit, malts, and hops in the aroma. Tastes fantastic with the bitterness of the hops balancing out the sweetness of the fruits. Lightly carbonated and quite drinkable. Smooth on the palate with some bite. This belgian-ipa really hit the spot for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this offering!

Drank from a twelve ounce bottle, thank you Dannysir. Aromas of malts and slightly of alcohol. A nice crisp flavor of malts super light, great taste! Slight flavors of hops towards the end.

22 ounce bomber. I love Stone beers but this is the 1st time I’ve had this one. Tastes fruity, hoppy and refreshing going down then a huge bitter fruit aftertaste then the dryness. I couldn't find a date on the bottle. To be fair, I would like to try this fresh. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Golden, lots of carbonation, an inch and a half of soft off-white head. Luscious aroma: grapefruit, sweet fruits, pine. Interesting flavor. Citrus, light banana, light bubblegum, floral hops.

Draft. Clear bright gold. White head. Yeasty. Pepperyness balanced out with sweet. Fruity. Everything plays nicely. A good mix.

Pours a clear golden color, with a white head. Aroma of floral hops. Taste of nice flowery hops, with good complexity. A good change, thumbs up.

Yellow with fine white head. Nose is citrus zest, Belgian yeast, grass, a little banana. Taste is a chaotic mix of spicy hops, white pepper, some pine, a very very bitter finish. Tastes as advertised but bitterness and yeast character too overwhelming for my palate.

Bottle: Bright yellow pour with good clarity, lots of small, rising bubble steams. Super soapy & foamy eggshell cap leaves nice lacing as it recedes slowly. Aroma is just as advertised; fairly equal mix of American style hopping with a Belgian yeast underbody. Semi-dank, green & grassy hops with modest pine pungency, over top a peppery/spicy yeast blanket. Undertones of peppermint, pear, & light caramelized sugar. Flavor is more zesty & spicy with a strong waft of white pepper, pine, herbaceous & earthy notes, a touch of rose, & a small splash of soapiness in the back-end. Herbal/spicy finish with a strong yeasty & bready overtone. Light pine sap & oily resins flow into the aftertaste from time to time. Not a bad IPA, though I canít help but think this would be better without the Belgian twist.

Bomber bottle. Slightly floral aroma. Pours a cloudy dark amber, with a thick white head of tight bubbles. Pleasant bitterness with a slight "funk" from the Belgian yeast. Lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Medium bodied with high carbonation leading to a fizzy mouthfeel. Pretty good IPA actually.
