Commercial Description:
When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

Pours copper-gold with a thick, lasting head. Aroma of grapefruit and citrus. Taste of bitter orange and grapefruit (cascade hops) but not overpowering (like Ruination). By flavor, it’s unmistakably a Stone brew but is generally quite pleasant. Well carbonated but without excess carbonation- this beer would pair very well with a burger and fries.

On tap at the Winking Lizard. Pours a hazy orange with a foamy off-white head. The aroma is hop-heavy with a touch of yeast; fruity, piney, resiny, and grassy. The flavor is quite complex: the hops hit first with their citrus and pine flavors, and then a subtle sweetness from the yeast. A little maltiness would have been nice to balance it out. Unique, but not quite amazing.

Decent, but not what I like in a beer. I would try again. Pour was cloudy gold with huge white foam. Nose was very citrus laden hops. The taste was pretty much the same. Has an out of place bitterness to it though.

Pours a murky gold orange with a nice white head and decent lacing. Aroma of citrus and earthy hops, yeast, fruit and spices. Flavor is bittersweet. Palate is medium bodied but a little cloying.

Sounds like a hipster gang from the san diego suburbs .. . light honey and light pine cotton candy .. . flavorful fun stuff . . full . . light brett goodness .. . clean, medium bitterness.. a class act .. . Charlie Brown ended up bludgeoning and dismembering Lucy in 1988 , her body was never fully recovered..

This beer has a light and sweet aroma. It has a rich golden appearance with minimal foam. It tastes like an IPA with sweet finish.

Bottle [22oz]. Pours a slightly hazy golden-orange with an average size lasting fluffy white head. Decent lacing. Very nice aroma of hops (resiny, citrusy and grassy) and Belgian yeast foremost followed by lots of fruit and spices. Flavour is hoppier then expected and is a pleasant surprise. Lots of hops but also yeasty, spicy and quite fruity along with sweet malt backing it up. Decent dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. I really like (most of) these Belgian/IPAs and this one’s no exception, it’s very easy to drink, smells great and is very tasty -- well done.

Bottle from Dorothy Lane. really nice IPA but I don’t get much Belgian influence, certainly not the yeast, a nice head but not like a Belgian IPA. Fragarent balanced and floral
