When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

from a 22 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow. Aroma is more hoppy but belgian is definitely there. Taste is smooth like a Belgian but with a slightly bitter hop taste. A good mix. Pretty nice beer.

Can, pours clear golden with a white head. Fruity and floral with banana, lychee, mango, biscuit, citrus zest, bit of pine. Fairly sweet, oily, low carbonation. Lingering baked banana finish with some bitterness kicking in. Belgian ipa indeed.

Tölkki @ Alko. Kaatuu IPA-lasiin kullankeltaisena ja kirkkaana, noin kahden sormen paksuisella vaahdolla. Tuoksussa on vahvaa sitrusta, yrttisyyttä ja belgimäistä mausteisuutta. Makeampaa hedelmäisyyttäkin on joukossa, sellaisena hedelmäkakkuisuutena. Maku on hyvin kukkaisen yrttinen, hivenen puumainenkin, mausteisuus on vahvana taustalla.

Vaarallisen nopeasti tuo tyhjeni. Suosittelen!

Canned 33cl. Purchased in Drinks of the World, Zürich. It pours a clear golden beer with a bubbly tall mountainous, nicely remaining white head. Rhubarb, melon rinds, green apples and almonds showing up in the nose which is dominated by Belgian yeast. Fresh white bread in the taste. Sweet with a good bitterness. Remarkably spicy (coriander). Delicate carbonation. Medium bodied. Dry finish with lingering notes of marzipan and coriander. Clean, flawless and rather enjoyable.

Can. Lunch with Pedro at Guevara & Lynch. Paired with Viriato burger. In shaker glass. The belgian yeast seem to provide it a very pleasant and refreshing sugary touch that stands out over the hops. Very original brew

330ml can served in a pint glass. A: Pours a clear yellow color forming a small white and creamy head with medium to low retention and only few lacings left in the glass. S: Sweet and very fruity nose. Strong notes of citrus fruits (grapefruit and pineapple), caramel malts, honey and sweet bread. Notes of bubblegum. Hints of peach and apricot. T: Slightly sweet upfront that becomes quickly quite bitter. Good bittersweet balance. Strong notes of pineapple, grapefruit, peach, apricot, orange zest, honey, candi sugar and bread. Very bready finish. Caramel malts backbone. Grassy hops bitterness. Hints of pine. M: Full body. Medium carbonation. Bittersweet bready aftertaste. Persistent bitterness. O: Great drinkability. Strong Belgian character. Reminds a Duvel Tripel Hop. Great IPA.
