When reading the name “Stone Cali-Belgique IPA”, “Cali” hints that it is a California style IPA, and this brew has an undeniable Belgian influence, indicated by the word “Belgique” (which is how Belgium’s French-speaking population says the word “Belgian”; the Dutch speaking Belgians say “Belgie”). We carefully selected a Belgian yeast strain that illuminates a fascinating new aspect of the beer that is otherwise quite simply Stone IPA.

The result is both completely new and different, while still being recognizable as a Stone Brew – and Stone IPA in particular. Think of it as an otherwise identical twin to Stone IPA that was raised in a Belgian culture. Literally.

from a 22 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow. Aroma is more hoppy but belgian is definitely there. Taste is smooth like a Belgian but with a slightly bitter hop taste. A good mix. Pretty nice beer.

Pours a murky yellow with a decent white head. Starts off piney followed by Belgian yeast with a bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with small white head that leaves ok lacing. Aromas of pine, bread dough, sour fruit, cloves and coriander. Medium to heavy sweet, medium bitter and lightly sour taste. Flavor follows aroma but with the lack of cloves and the addition of light caramel. Medium body, average carbonation and a lightly bitter leading to a medium sweet brief finish. Very interesting, nicely balanced brew.

Exactly what you'd imagine if you stuck Belgium and IPA together. Not so awesome though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of citrus flavors with orange, sweet smells, bubble gum, and some yeast. Golden in color with small bits of carbonation. Strong flavoring of grapefruit mixed with yeast and rind. It has a bitter, rind, grapefruit bite to it.

On tap poured slightly hazed clear yellow hue w/ small white head. Moderate sweet yeast aroma. Initial flavor moderate sweet w/ a moderate bitter finish. Tastes are a clash of sugar, banana, clove, and grass. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

tap. Golden with small head. Excellent fusion of West coast and Belgian styles. Big fruity hops with plenty of Belgian spice. Very well done.

Nice fruity aroma of pine grapefruit and fruity belgian characteristics. Pours a bright golden tone with a pretty nice thin head and sticky lacing. Nice bitter sweet flavors of belgian yeast caramel grapefruit and pine. Fruity bitter finish.

Would be a benchmark of the style (albeit not a recognized one as yet). Takes their already excellent IPA and updates it with Belgian yeast. A brilliant innovation and having both side-by-side is a treat not to be missed.

Funky, dill, zesty, citrus aroma. Light hazy golden. Flavor is funky, musty, lots of citrus, big pine and lemon zest finish. Really good.

Pours cloudy light golden color with thick foamy whit head. Aroma is pine, juniper berries and earthy fruity Belgian yeast. Upfront is a sweet citrus taste followed by some tartness and biscuity malt. Finishing with a peppery yeasty flavor.
