Keg at the Stone Company Store on Kettner SD, 14/11/14. Hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is bitter grapes, woody notes, pissy, red wine BA effect, spice, lihgt herbals and minit leaf. Taste comprises tangy red grape, trace of booze, lemon just, light tropical fruits, straw, bitter citrics. Medium + body, fine carbonation, smei drying close. Solid BA IPA.

Had on draft, but this is one of the new 500 ml releases from Stone as well. One of the rare instances where I like the barreled beer less than the original. The reason being most all of the dry blegian yeast/hoppy interplay is completely covered by the vinous, sour, fruity and acidicness of the barrels. Not a bad beer, just a completely different beer that is not as great as the original."

On tap 5 oz. pour at Max's in the Fell's Point district, Baltimore, MD. Clear, golden yellow with an off-white head and very good lacing. Aroma of caramel, red wine, citrus, apricot, tropical fruit and spice. Taste of cabernet sauvignon, caramel, tropical fruit, orange, oak and yeast. Medium body and medium/low carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Snallygaster 2014. Poured a golden color with a foamy white head. Aroma is mostly barrel notes, red wine, with some light , but incredibly good - with a light hoppy aroma with pine, grapefruit, floral characters. Woody. Enjoyed this one.

Pours cloudy orange with ok head and lacing. Too much barrel destroyed a good beer. What’s the point of doing this to an IPA? Good beer is gone. Some light citrus with the wine. Tap at Snallygaster.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2014 6 oz draft pour at Snallygaster 2014 shared by me. Golden brown with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, floral notes, wine. Tastes of red wine, citrus, floral notes, spice. Medium-light body with a dry finish. Better without the barrel aging.

Tap at Snallygaster 2014. Red wine tannins dominated the nose of this one and followed through in the taste. Bone dry. This was a really nice brew.

Tap - average size foamy head, clear medium copper color, strong red wine aroma and flavor (much more than expected), very mild IPA flavors - the wine flavors really overtake the beer flavors, would be better with a little less time in the wine barrels, needs more beer and less wine flavors ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample @ Brewvival 2014. Amber pour with a small head. Loads of Belgian yeast on the nose. Red berries, apple cider. Taste is moderately tart. Acidic red wine. Wood character. Strong yeast. Full body, oily.
