Amazing, on tap at Library Alehouse, aged in red wine barrels, made this perfect.

Cloudy glowing orange color. Very clean, light fragrant, soap like aroma. Surprisingly hop sourness. The wine pulls put and the grapes tartness, but still an underlying hop bitterness. Slight wood aftertaste.

A fantastically strong citrus aroma; cloudy golden appearance; strong citrus to hop flavor; moderately fizzy with a finish that lingers; overall, a good IPA made great by it's powerful aroma and uniquely strong citrus flavor ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Growler. Clear golden with a creamy white head and champagne carbonation. Beautiful floral caramel, red wine, oak, vanilla, citrus, and apple aroma and taste with a sweet wine barrel finish and a light touch of tartness. Nice soft lively palate.

Clear golden pour with a white head. Nice wine aroma, some apple cider notes, citrus hops, and excellent pear and peach fruit notes. Mildly tart, too. Seems to have sort of an unintentional sour flavor to it, but it works nicely. Apple cider, pear, and peach fruit notes, nice citrus, and some floral hops. Good red wine notes, mild wood, and a light sweetness.

Tap at the Stone Company Store in Oceanside. Aroma is grassy, herbal, with a pleasant red wine sourness/ acidity. Not sure if its the hops or the Belgian yeast thats conflicting with the acetic wine character. Noticeable amount of oak wood mixed in the flavor too. Maybe its just me being used to red wine flavors in sour ales. Not bad, just meh.

Tap @ Stone O’Side. Golden, slightly hazy pour with a slick of white foam. Aroma is pleasant, vinuous grapes with light , dry malt and hop bitterness. Taste is lingering red wine with light grape tart, minimal yeast/clove, pepper, and a nice balance of sweet malt and piney hop bitterness into the finish. Clean, smooth mouthfeel. The red wine influence is much stronger in this beer than other red wine treatments I’ve had from Stone and it is very well done.

Man is this a big improvement over the original. The use of red wine barrels lends a tartness that overcomes the originals cloying sweetness. Aroma is currants raspberries and a hint of blackberry with belgian esters, clove. taste is tart and sip-able. palate is tart and drying. By the time I was about to order my second the keg was tapped. REALLY good.

P: Light golden/amber with a white head. S: Floral hops, wood, red wine, and belgian yeast. T: Hoppy (citrus) with belgian yeast, fruits, hints of red wine, some cherries and rasberries, candy and oak. M: light with a hint of carbonation and a bit creamy. O: very enjoyable and possibly the complex belgian ipa i have ever had.

Pouring at Belgian Beer Fest. Pours a clear amber gold with a thin white head. Leon and wood, soft tartness. Medium bodied, spicy yeast, toast, wood. Gently vinous, toast, spicy and peppery, toast and wood. Nice earthy bitterness on the finish.
