illinismitty (1790), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Sep 18, 2007 Draft at Shula’s in Baltimore, MD. Pours pale golden with a dissipating white head. Typical pale lager aroma. This has a decent amount of body and is not overly carbonated like it’s peers. The maltiness has lots of sweet and pale wheat breadiness, with some hints of biscuit, and honey. Hopping rate is very low and puts this somewhat out of balance for my personal tastes. Short and clean finish. Nothing offensive but extremely forgettable. Parrothead (185), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 18, 2007 On tap at Reflections, Lancaster. A nice golden coler with a moderat ehead that doesn’t last long. A good bite of wheat followed by hops. A pretty good hot weather beer. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Sep 7, 2007 Figured I’d try out their golden ale (and the three "blends" while I was at it including the ember and half and half). Pours gold with a white head. Smells nutty and earthy. Tastes of sweet sugary wheat, nutty and on the watery side. Slightly better than the brown. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Aug 29, 2007 Medium gold. No discernable aroma. Flavor was that of a standard, stock golden ale, just not a lot here to describe folks. Yeast was clean, flavors were pretty nondescript. Dry finish. No wheat discernable. "Beer." Seemed very much aimed at not offending the Bud crowd. Having said this, there was nothing actually wrong with this brew. obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Aug 26, 2007 Updated: Aug 31, 2007Shockoe festival Richmond VA-Draft: Was told it was a golden ale. Weak grain and vegetable taste and aroma. Yellow color, clear, with no head. Decent hop finish. pet3rman (206), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 24, 2007 Didn’t look or smell spectacular. Not a lot of taste. Body wasn’t as thin as you would expect. This beer was very refreshing and could be pretty sessionable. Not finish or aftertaste whatsoever. Don’t know if I would label it a true wheat beer though. johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA Aug 18, 2007 Tap. Poured see through yellow with white head. Looked like a miller lite, coors light, etc. Light aroma of hops and some wheat. Taste was very watered down. Some hop hints present but not strong at all. cheapdark (2011), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 16, 2007 On tap at Roland’s Iron Landing in Pittsburgh. Off fermented fruity aroma and taste that is strangely attractive. Barely any carbonation. Ubiquitous pale yellow american lager appearance. Comes on like a good personality pale lager.
