Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Sep 7, 2007 Figured I’d try out their golden ale (and the three "blends" while I was at it including the ember and half and half). Pours gold with a white head. Smells nutty and earthy. Tastes of sweet sugary wheat, nutty and on the watery side. Slightly better than the brown. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 29, 2007 Bottle from Capone’s. Deep gold pour with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of Saazy hops, citrus, pale malt, some funky yeasty notes. Tastes pale malty, with citrus, hops, and mild fruity notes. Radek Kliber (3926), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Aug 25, 2008 Bottle 355 ml sold as Hook & Ladder Golden Ale
Appearance: Visibly carbonated golden ale with mid large white top.3+ Nose: Plain grainy nose , slight creamy/butter like with mineral like accents. Flavor/Palate : Medium light bodied. Flavor follow path of aroma. Light grainy character with hint of butter and mineral hops. Fairly forgettable finish. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2008 Bottle (12oz). Shared by blankboy with me and garthicus. Light gold pour, clear, with a small diminishing white head (3-). Very light aroma of honey and clover, clean, slightly perfumey. tastes like a decently well-made macro golden ale - moderately grainy, a little floral and sweet, a light grassy bitterness in the linger. Watery, ever-so-slightly astringent, very quick-finishin - lawnmower beer.
