COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after the early Fox River explorer, Jacques Marquette, this recipe originated at the Fox Classic Brewery once located in downtown Appleton. This beer is an export-style European pilsner bier with several additions of the noble saaz hop. This will come across as a dry, clean beer with a wonderful hop nose. 1.056 OG, 24.4 IBUs. First place at the North American Awards 2005.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear straw gold with a white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has notes of grassy hops, earthy grains and straw. Flavor begins with grassy hops but quickly translates to grains and an earthy wood note.

StefanSD (1797) - Lakeside, California, USA - AUG 15, 2011
Glass at the Brewpub. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head that soon fades to a fine ring. The aroma was soft with grains and some light citrus. The taste featured funky saaz hops, biscuit and some sweet grains. The palate was light and appropriate for the style. Finished long with lingering biter grassy hops. Overall: I thought that this was a pretty good Pils. I’d drink it again.

This beer is light in color, watery in body, and low on flavor. It is one of the flattest beers I have had.

On tap at Stone Cellar. A good sturdy pilsner. Served a mid-gold with nice lace on the surface. Aroma of malt with a slight citrus hue. Taste was of malt and a moderate hop finish. Nothing fancy, but straight ahead with nice quality.
