COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after the early Fox River explorer, Jacques Marquette, this recipe originated at the Fox Classic Brewery once located in downtown Appleton. This beer is an export-style European pilsner bier with several additions of the noble saaz hop. This will come across as a dry, clean beer with a wonderful hop nose. 1.056 OG, 24.4 IBUs. First place at the North American Awards 2005.

On tap at the Brewpub. Poured a straw golden with a short cap of white head. Sweet caramel and pils malts in the aroma with a very nice floral hop presence. Flavor was much like the aroma... adding some honey toward the backend. Bitterness was well-placed at the edges... very crisp throughout... and caramel + floral bitters at the finish. Really good stuff!

Sharp wheat and hops smells dominate. The body is mildly carbonated with good lacing. Malty, honey initial taste with a dry finish and and an aftertaste that reminded me of wheat bread. A pretty decent session beer.

On tap at Cinder’s restaurant in Appleton, WI. In a pint glass, this beer appears crystal clear with a nice, white head. Good lacing. Color is a light amber--slightly darker than most Pilsners I’ve tried. Aroma is crisp & malty. Big initial malt taste with a good balancing followup of bitterness. A fair amount of aromatic hops show up in the background. More zing than I’m accustomed to with this type of beer. Very good.

Soldid Golden Graham Coloring with White Skin. Crisp Clean Pils. Some Saaz Hops Noticeable. Pretty Grainy and Sweet to Want to Drink Too Many of These.

This was very light in color but had plenty of taste to it. It was one of my favorites among the Stone Cellar brews. If you go to this place eat the Ravioli, it is awesome. Also be sure to try the Masterpiece Porter and the Kiss My Lemongrass Rye.

Pretty much a slightly stronger version of the light, balanced hop malt aroma and taste, not enough body to distinguish it from the macros
