On draught at the brewpub in Appleton, Wisconsin as Stone Cellar Porter. Pours a dark cola brown brew with a creamy beige head that has some nice retention and excellent lacing. Aroma of toasted dark malt, some chocolate, flowery hops and a touch of roasted nuts. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of toasted dark malt, chocolate, a hint of coffee, and some bread crust. Finish has a nice balance of toasted dark malt and mild flowery hop flavors.

Bottle courtesy of Ughsmash. Dark brown/mahogany edges, with minimal head. Aroma is all rosted/burnt coffee up front, with a nice chocolate and caramel? looks, like i am not the only one getting a big caramel kick. Flavor is a tasd oxidized, roated coffee, malty sweetness through the middle and fades out to nothing rather quick. Body/mouthfeel thin and watery. Not too far from being a solid brew, with some tweaks.

On tap at the Brewpub. Poured a clear, medium garnet/brown with a medium cap of toffee head. Medium coffee roast hits the nose first and kinda took over... there was a little chocolate and some other roasted malts back there, too. Very nice balance between all of the dark maltage... solid hop presence and bitterness, too. Just OK on the palate... nothing memorable there, but very tasty porter in all other regards.

Coffeea and caramel dominate the aroma. It came deep brown with no head. Tasted of roasted malts and caramel. Chewy but not overpowering with a subtle hint of hops. A decent porter but not unique.

Darkest of Browns Coloring with No Head. Dry Roasts and Hop Aroma. Light Caramel and and Coffee Roast Notes. Light Dry Syrapy Taste and Think Bodied with a Dry Roast Aftertaste. Seems a bit Unbalanced and a Bit Lacking in Flavor but Overall a Decent Brew.

Very dark with a chocolatey, coffee taste. This was a great porter and was the best beer the pub had to offer. I really liked this brew.

POured with a very dark brown body that also shows a little red. The head is thin. Armoa of roasted caramel and a hint of chocolate with a little tobacco. The taste is lightly roasted with some chocolate and burnt coffee. A nice roasted finish. Thanks for the bottle, DavidP.

Bottle purchased at Flanagans. Dark brown body with red highlights. Chocoate roast aroma with minty cake frosting hops. Nice roasty flavor with a strong hard water element. Sort of a toasted chocolate poptart thing with weaker chocolate sweetness. Again the hops lean towards mintiness just with more bitter leafiness. Dry mouthfeel throughout. A solid porter but it doesn’t excite me.
