Draft at Liberty Station. Pours dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Tastes smokey, like roasted malt, toasted grain, light ash, burnt coffee. Light body and low carbonation. Smells like smoke, light ash, and very roasted malt.

On tap at Liberty Station. Pours dark brown with a thin creamy tan head. Slight roast with some coffee. Very dry. Really nice beer.

On tap at Liberty Station. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of burnt grains, coffee and chocolate. The taste was of chocolate, coffee and burnt grains. Nice

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2014 Sample at GABF 10/03/2014, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Brown-black color with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of roast malt and dark chocolate. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, earthy hops and chocolate. The finish is bittersweet chocolate and malt. Pretty good overall.

Aroma: coffee, toasted malts, dark chocolate. Appearance: black, small, beige head. Taste: light bitter. Palate: bitters turn quickly into dryness, chocolate, coffee again. Overall: nice Foreign Export Stout. Pint at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens - Liberty Station, San Diego.

Nose is bitter roast, dark fruit peel, cocoa powder, brown sugar, liqourice, earthy.
Taste comprises dark toffee, light ash, liqourice, more bitter roast, smoke, hint of green pepper, earthy cocoa.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
