Poured very cloudy orange. Smell of hop and vegatables. Nice drinkable IPA. Taste is dry, with a woodsy aftertaste.

Poured into a snifter. 420 IPA pours a hazy, yellowish orange with a hint of red to it. Atop the brew is a nice off white head, with decent retention which leads to some light lacing. The aroma is a strong, sweet floral smell, with some hints of citrus, as well as some sweet grains. The beer tastes like tea with wet hops. Tastes dry-hopped eventhough the bottle didnít say anything. The taste is a little light on the flavor compared to the aroma. Mouthfeel is smooth, yet a little dry. Mild to high on the carbonation level. At 6.9% some may not call this a session beer, but I beg to differ. It is smooth and has a different flavor than most IPAs, which makes the drinker take their time a little more, but not like a big beer.

2006: Orange-gold appearance. Nice full amount of head that isnít going anywhere anytime soon. Cloudy and opaque. Overwhelming fruity scent. Overpowers any malt or hops that might be present. Itís a good smell, but doesnít seem like itís going to be an IPA. By smell alone, it seems like it would be an Apricot ale or some such madness. Malts and fruits dominate the bouquet. Has a very fruity, hoppy flavor. Unusual. Not quite anything I can remember having before. The fruit is actually much more prominent than the hops. I was expecting a bit more of a cannabis flavor given the name, but alas it is nowhere to be found. Tastes more like an apricot ale than an IPA. Or rather, an apricot ale with a heavy hop presence. A bit too fizzy and carbonated for my taste. I would prefer something a little smoother. The fizziness on the tongue makes it a bit of a tough sell. Harder to drink than many of the smoother IPAs. In fact, I would say that this beer is smooth as sandpaper. Not bad, just not one I crave.

Nice hazy golden orange coloured body with a light amber tint and a frothy off-white head. Aroma of fresh hops, sweet sugars, oranges, grasses and green apples. Medium-bodied; Strong grassy hops with some floral hop quality and a plentiful potency of malt and caramel. Aftertaste shows more malt than hops and not a lot of hops at all. Overall, I thought this one would be more hoppy and well-rounded, but this one tasted like an APA. I sampled this 350 mL bottle purchased fresh from Oliverís Beverage in Albany, New York on 08-October-2006.

A very hazy appearance to it with a bit of fluffy white head. Lacing is minimal but present. The smell is of earthy hops and fruit. The most present taste is grapefruit with a bit of an additional bite form the hops. This is a pretty hefty IPA on the tongue with a grainy kind of texture. This is a highly drinkable brew. I probably couldn’t have too many due to its fuller body, but I’m good for a few. I’m usually more of a stout person but I enjoyed this brew and it was very different from other IPAs that I’ve had. I may become a hophead yet. Reviewed on: 05-23-2007

Pours a murky rust orange with a sturdy, dense off-white head. Much of the hop aroma is muted, with light citrus, fruits and nothing else. The flavour is has a nice orange citrus flavor with peppery citrus and honey sweetness. This is a very straight forward, toasty and easy drinking IPA, but nothing worth buying again in my opinion. The aftertaste is bitter in a non-medicinal way, which is nice. The mouthfeel is medium-thin, sticky and mildly carbonated.

12oz. Bottle: Bottle exploded upon opening coating me half the beer. Lightly sweet aroma. Smells of fruity hops, peach, tangerine, apricot, pale malts, and slight citrus. Poured amber in color with a small, creamy, dense, off-white head that lasted throughout. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny and small particles. Very good lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Tastes of hops, fruit, grapefruit, resin, berries, and some other fruit I cannot identify. Medium body. Smooth, then chalky texture. Average to lively carbonation. Bitter, hoppy, resinous finish is medium dry.

I was lucky enough to get one of the last kegs of this and had it on draft at my house. The head was massive and i had to wait a while for it to settle untill i could even drink it. The color is a bit cloudy with a redish amber color. The nose is full of light fruits and pepper spice. The flavor is nice and bitter leaving a tingle in your mouth after eash sip. There is some nice traces of caramilized malt with some toasted malt but overall it was a refreshing beer and it is a shame they will not be produceing it any more.

Bottle that I picked up from Winooski Beverage. This pours a really nice cloudy rich amber color with a fair sized tan head. Aroma is hoppy and fruity. Flavor is very hoppy and juicy. I was getting notes of pears and apricots. Some would call this one too malty to be a great IPA, but it was really nice to drink.

[1585-20080816] 355mL bottle. Slight beef steak sauce aroma has weird floral notes. Slightly hazy, light amber brown body with a quick creamy light tan head. Slightly grainy hops flavour has heavy yeast characteristics. Medium body. Average.
