1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Uh, not so good here. Was I drinking a science lab experiment for IPA’s? This is alright, but for what I was expecting, no, not at all. There are many better dubs out there.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle. Drainpour. Tons of plastic in the flavor. Not good. Too old? No noticable hop presence.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with a thick silky off white head. Aroma is very hoppy, flowery, orange zest. Taste is hoppy but a little too bitter. Palate is a bit thin and dry for an imperial IPA.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had two bottles at different times. Good color. Taste was not too strong but quite hoppy. Alcohol hidden in taste and texture. Hope to try again soon.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this twice. The second bottle I had was substantially fresher than the first, and am going off that rating. Dark copper/orange color with a nice lasting head. Some sediment floating around. Aroma of orange, tangerine, some earthy herbal hops and pale malts. Nice soft hoppiness creates a pleasant fruitiness that has a good amount of orange, softer citrus, and a nice herbal finish. Nice moderate malt adds a great balance. A soft herbal bitterness lingers on the tongue. Pretty decent drinkable stuff.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Thick chewy/yeast brownish copper color with a thick head. Nose of lemon and orange peel, bright citrus and pale malt. Flavor is thick and balanced, nice malts, light dry hops, finishes bitter, long malty sweet tail. Good.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A big thanks to mkgrenwel for this via trade. 22oz Bottle pours out a hazy amber topped with a cream off white head. A great aroma of floral hops along with some sweet caramel. On the tast more sweetness and you guessed it more tasty hops. This was a nice 2IPA.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Pours a hazy orange amber with a nice beige head. Aromatic with citrus hops and bits of floral. Flavor is hoppy enough with caramel malt and a lingering citrus trailer. Thanks BuckeyeBoy.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(22 oz. bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/portland/ target=blank>Downeast Beverage Co.) Just doesn’t cut it...Pours hazy darkish amber with one finger of off-white head that recedes to a thin layer. Aroma is fairly strong pine overlain with wet dishrag/blanket, maybe some hint of grapefruit rind. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth but lightly pebbly with a bit if stickiness in finish. Nice persistent rings and sheets of lacing. Flavor kind of falls short with fairly heavy pine with an off sort of quality of wet dishrag which pretty much wrecks it. Some light caramel and perhaps light rock candy underneath but malt flavor is hard to find here. Pretty much one-dimensional and it’s not a very good dimension. Some bitter grapefuit rind. Medium-heavy bitterness from fore through finish. Bit of a letdown - outside of Allagash the number of big beers produced by Maine breweries is few and far between so was hoping this would measure up a bit better. Geary’s 20th Anniv. IIPA was better.
