Q: “What do you call it when Greg takes his entire harvest bounty of chili pepper varieties from his own personal garden, take half of them and add to…and thus ruin…an otherwise beautiful oak barrel of Double Dry Hopped Lukcy Basartd Ale?” A: “A Crime!”

Pours hazy red/brown with with a small offwhite head, specks of lace. Smells mellow sweet malty with lots and lots of earthy type peppers. Tastes of earth and peppers only a hint of sweetness. Lingering peppers and a bit of heat. Medium body, good carbonation.

2013 bourbon barrel-aged bottle. It pours a deep amber with a tan head and lacing. The aroma is overwhelmingly spicy peppers with some bourbon in the background. The flavor is hot peppers that get stronger with the finish. Interesting, but too much heat for my taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

i liked it. TONS of pepper flavors, but its tasty, i like heat. A bit too much but its hurts so good, given that its a novelty and doesnt get extra points for that.

Broke this out for a pre Thanksgiving dinner treat. Pours cloudy brown amber color. Sweet malty aroma with nice spicy chili pepper aroma. Flavor starts sweet caramel malt with some pine followed with a pungent black pepper flavor and hear that hits you in the back of the tougne. Really nice chili pepper flavor. Big spicy heat in finish.

500 ml bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a somewhat hazy amber with a beige head of foam. The aroma has nice notes of peppers and bourbon. I get jalapeño more than any of the other peppers used. The taste is alright, but the heat really makes it unpleasant. It would make a good wing sauce or a glaze. Luckily, I thought of this in time to save it for just that. In shirt, too spicy to drink, but it smells pretty nice to this pepper head.

Sample at Kurtkeller 018: Tequila-aged and Let’s Agree to Ruin Our Evening with Pepper beers-tastic 01 on 11/04/2014. Clear ruby-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing. Peppers and oak in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of vegetal peppers, grainy malt and a bit of wood. The finish is hot with a peppery aftertaste. A little too overboard for me, average overall.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity spicy strong chili aroma with weak woody hints. Spicy and very hot chili flavor with woody caramel hints. Has a spicy hot agressive chili finish.

500ml bottle - If you don’t like spice/heat, especially in your beer stay far away from this. Sweet chili aroma. Deep caramel chili flavor. It’s hot. And sweet. I liked it. I got no bourbon/oak at all. Heat and sweet.

Bomber from ck1, cellar aged 7 months and shared with ck1 & Jan. Thanks bro! Pours orangey. Aroma heavy peppery. Lotta heat through the mouth and throat. Not so much base beer presence. Decent once got used to it. 12.8 ck1 says 12.

500 ml bottle via local trade. 2013 vintage. Pours a semi-cloudy amber with an off-white head. Big pepper notes - spicy and vegetal, with caramel, brown sugar, and oak. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet, but very spicy mouthfeel. Dries the palate and can be felt most of the way down. Very aggressive pepper beer, but not as bad as widely said to be.

From bottle during the BeerMongers Fifth Anniversary Bottle Share. Deep amber color. Intense chili aroma, burns the nostrils. Taste is herbal, vegetal, and most of all, chili heat. Not too hot, the fresh chili flavor lingers long after.
