4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Pours a wonderful dark ruby red with nearly no head. Aromas whole hop flowers, resinous notes, grapefruit, caramel and sugar malts, and more citrus hops! Full mouthfeel, little carbonation. Full out assault on my taste buds. Hops, malts, hoppy malts, malty hops! Flavor is tough to decipher. No real flavor coming from the generous amount of hops, just bitterness. Starts off hoppy with a sweet bread like maltiness. Quick to follow is a certain sweetness I canít quite put my finger on (maybe caramel) mixed with a grapefruit west coast hop bitterness. Long bitter finish with slight alcohol warming in the stomach. After taste of citrus hops lingers on your tongue and gums. Good, I really like Arrogant Bastard better. Sipper of a beer, with what is surely to be a ton of IBUís! Had to come back, towards the end of the bottle the alcohol really comes through, changing the after taste to a fine liquor. I guess I just had to become acclimated with the IBUís. Love this after taste.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2010 Nice medium head. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, alcohol, pine, lemon and pineapple. The pineapple, pine and chocolate malt flavors come forward in the taste.

Pours a very hazy dark honey color with a thin vanilla head. Smells similar to a barley wine. Spices. Slightly boozy. Taste is sweet. Boozy finish with a bitter fruit aftertaste

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Christmas 2010, 3qt btl. Rated on scene "Almost oakey malty IPA flavour. Positively doubley as good as Arrogant Bastard." I have a bomber bottle in my cellar that Iíll break out soon, but just wanted to get this rating down.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bottle. Pours a dark, red-hued amber color with a bit of head. It smells like a juniper tree, very hop-dominated with some fruit and alcohol. The taste starts out with malts and fruits and then quickly turns to the hop flavor and alcohol presence. Finishes dry, bitter and earthy. Itís a very thick, complex beer. Far too hop-dominated and bitter for my tastes, but fans of that style will love this beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Super strong, but very subtle. You would think that a 10% drink would be stronger, but it was excellently balanced.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
To make the long story short, this is an over the top, super hoppy version of the Arrogant Bastard. The extreme hoppiness takes this one closer to a barleywine for me. An incredibly smooth brew for 10 percent.

0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Bottle. Pours red-brown, heavy tan head. Reeks of alcohol and... something... unidentifiable. One sip: GAH!!!! Itís like swallowing a mouthfull of rusty razor blades, complete with noxious bitter aftertaste that we could taste for 20 minutes after one sip. And itís worse when "repeated".
Straight down the drain as an offering for the demons of the privy.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Poured a dark ruby, almost coke color, with a thin white head. Interesting malt and hop nose that seems well balanced. Flavor is grapefruit, malt and hops, an odd mix. I dont particularly like the citrus flavor, but this is an excellent beer. Finishes sweet, citrusy, and smooth.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
2004 Release. Deep garnet red in color and makes a slight offwhite coloured head. Smell is sweet and rich of roasty malt, thick molasses, caramel and worty. Flavor is also richly sweet, nutty, caramel, molasses, roasty malt, well balanced hop bitterness comes through, alcoholic bite. This one is full bodied, thick and syrupy on the palate, very warming on the way down. This is awesome.
