Bottled. A huge offering from Stone, Iíve been waiting so long for them to do an espresso bottled version of the IRS. Finally! A beautiful looking beer, pours oily black with a thick ass cap of foam taking up the top 1/2 inch of my snifter glass. Sustained head throughout drinking. Rich, saucy aroma of dark chocolates, espresso, raisin bread and pancake batter. Flavor follows suit with sweet licorice and maple flavors up front rounded off by drying espresso and bitter blackened malts. Finish is bitter and warming alcohol. Nice chewy body that leaves an Exxon Valdez oil slick on the tongue. Its a bold statement in my book but this straight up competes with Speedway Stout. Hats off to Stone on growing as big as they have as a brewery but still kicking the shit out of palates everywhere.

This very dark stout has a small head. Its wonderful taste is dominated by the coffee essence in the roasted malt, with significant caramel taste. The hops are slightly understated, allowing the full flavor of the malt to come through. A great stout.

Pours dark black with a thick Carmel color head. Woody aroma. Flavor starts coffee bitter, finishes sweet. Super smooth mouthfeel. Good Russian but not as intense as imagined. Masks the high alcohol content well

Wow! This was fantastic. The aroma was toasted coffee, malts, toffee. The flavor was sweet yet just a touch bitter from the big coffee notes. Super smooth on the tongue. Loved it.
