On tap at Brunzies. Very mild aroma, but notes of vanilla, bourbon, oak, chocolate ... farking ’ell, it’s aromatic. Dark black opaque with thin head. Medium heavy body, with medium carbonation. Sweet, musky, bourbon, a little diacetyl, vanilla, alcohol warming, roast, and light fusels. Really nice flavor profile with sweet finish and after. Nice.

2016 bottle from AA. Soysauce, deep roasted cacao nibs, star anise and vanilla as it warms. Syrupy and sweet on the palate with lots of star anise / licorice standing out. Cacao and faint cinnamon sticks. Hides the abv very well. Solid stuff.

On tap. Pours a deep brown color with a good tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, hint of dark chocolate and nutty. Taste of dark fruit, nuts, subtle touch of dark chocolate and hint of roasted malt. Light bitterness and a dry finish. Full body, smooth rich and creamy with just a hint of the 13% ABV. Very well crafted.

13%ABV. Imperial Stout. Poured out black. 40ºSRM. Nose has charred wood. Cherry smoke. Maraschino cherries. Ripe black cherries with the slight smokey, bitter, chocolate like nose, it comes off as Black Forest cake. Sweet tobacco in the nose. Alcoholic fumes, but then balanced out with a rich nutty, creamy, nose that is reminiscent of praline pecans. Mouthfeel is thick and syrupy. Palate has toasted malt as solid backbone. There is also a very pleasantly comforting solid and consistent "nuttiness" for the want of a better word. There is some mild charcoal flavor, but the smoke comes through in the following ways: charred wood, burnt milk, deeply caramelized coffee. Cream in the palate is reminiscent of creme bruleé. There are of course an entire constellation of preserved dark fruit with cherries, black plums, prunes and even sweetened cranberries. There is also a strong representation on the palate for the following flavor profiles, burnt caramel and dark toffee. Thick alcoholic palate is assertive, and the finish is tongue-numbingly good. Overall, this was just a very smooth mellow ride loaded with classic barrel-aged, old and precious, preserved and fastidiously aged flavors. The kind of flavor that is velvety, unctuous, enveloping and snug. The kind of flavor that leaves you smiling, warm and thinking happy thoughts. Goes on Favorites List! Draft at Stone. Aroma of bourbon vanilla, cherry, chocolate and booze, nice. Flavor is rich, with cherry, smooth boozy vanilla, milk chocolate, cream and soft cacao. Very good.

2016 Bomber pours a dark brown with a large tan head. Sweet aroma, bourbon, vanilla, oak, big licorice, caramel, toffee, cocoa, yeah maybe some pecan, slightly nutty anyway. Very sweet, cocoa, caramel, toffee, molasses, and vanilla, alcohol and bourbon very present with a bitterness, nutty earth pecans present. Solid.

Black with a thin light brown head. Fantastically full body, smooth and creamy. Superb balance. Rich and full of character but not cloying. Great dark roastiness stands out. Decadent dark chocolate. I didn’t find it to be boozy at all. Perfect way to cap off a Sunday.

Bottle. A dark color with a tan head. A smooth chocolate aroma with a touch of the barrels but mellowed with the wheat malts and nutty finish. Quite nice.
