Tap at brewdog shepherds bush. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Rich sticky fruit cake aroma with caramel. Full body, light carbonation. Lots of sweet candy licorice, booze, light choc, light coffee, treacle. Sweet and pretty dominant booze. OK.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg at Brewdog Shepherds Bush (served very cold but allowed to warm to decent temp - better than the tepid cask version at GBBF though). Jet black with a head the colour of white coffee. Big banana aroma mixed in with the bourbon and chocolate. Loads more banana and coconut in the mouth to complement the booze and the coffee and chocolate roast. It’s quite good but not a world-beater.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Keg at Brewdog as ’w00tstout 2.0’. Black, small foamy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, molasses, sherry, floral. Body is medium, quite foamy, mid-carbonation. Taste is chocolate syrup, tangy fruit with a yeasty marmite edge, alcohol is noticeable and brings a brandy sharpness. Came across as a bit unbalanced, but a decent imperial stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at Great British Beer Festival 2014, Olympia, London. A black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Sweet, boozy, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, sweet, slightly roasty, boozy, chocolate, some vanilla. Clearly a well made Imperial Stout but it was a bit heavy going.

22 oz bottle (2.0) poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Black with a almost a finger of tan head. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, dark fruit, dark chocolate, light booze. Tastes of bourbon, caramel, dark chocolate, spices, rye. Medium-full body with a dry and slightly warm finish. Low carbonation, semi-oily mouthfeel. Dig this more than the original batch/1.0.

Bottle... Pours dark brown (nearly black) with a small, creamy, beige head. Good retention. The bouquet is a blend of carbonic, bitter, black malts, spicy grains and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and tingly carbonation. There’s a shit-ton of burnt, bitter charcoal both in the flavor and lengthy carbonic finish. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. I enjoyed this like a fat kid likes cake. This was the 2.0. I have to say the first one was better, but still pretty good. Don’t know why it redirected me and I thought I rated this before, pretty sure.
