Bottled on 06.20.15. Poured from a bomber into a chalice on 08.13.15. A: Cocoa, lots of dark berry, dark chocolate, and slight bourbon. A: A fizzy 1/2 finger tan head fades to a ring pretty quickly. Mostly black body with some red in the glass. T: Milk chocolate, dark berry, and rye spiciness/earthiness dominate. Pecans, a little bit of bourbon, oak on the finish, and very slight licorice are subtle. Alcohol heat is there, but is pretty well hidden by the rye. P: Mostly silky smooth thanks to the wheat with some oiliness. It?s medium to thin in the mouth. O: It?s underwhelming. It?s balanced nicely, but the flavors are too weak for my taste.

Very complex beer. Smells like bourbon and pecans. Notes of bourbon, sweet brown sugar and some roasted malt backbone. Soft sweet finish. Love fark.com and this beer as well. Had at Jerry's in Andersonville

2015 edition fresh. Oil black with hints of red in the pour and good brown head. Big, sugary, and full, especially up front. Plenty of hop bitterness as well, leading to an overpowering taste, appropriate for 13% ABV. Not particularly boozy though. Maybe a tannic bitterness in the middle and trail. Good fresh, but I expect that it will be better with age.

Not seeing any ".0" designations on this 2015 bottle so going here. Bomber into snifter glass, deep opaque dark brown (black) color with next to no dark tan lacing. Aroma notes of heavy roasted malt, caramel, bourbon, chocolate syrup, anise, coffee, dark fruits, vanilla, oak and a tad herbal. Taste adds nuttiness, more vanilla, dark cocoa, espresso powder, dried fruits (plums, figs), rye spiciness and light alcohol. Heavy body, low carbonation, creamy, rich with lingering bourbon-roast finish. A pretty hyped imperial stout that lives up to it. Very good.

A great stout. Not a big fan of the stouts I think, but this is my favorite. There is a caramel taste with a bite at the end.

Pours a jet black with a thin tan head. Aroma is bourbon, booze, nut, and vanilla. Flavor is oak, sweet vanilla, and nut. Has a huge body with some bitterness and lots of alcohol heat as it goes down the throat. Very good.

In tap art Ron’s Tavern. Pours black with a medium dark tan head. The aromas are dark chocolate, roasted coffee, bourbon. The mouthfeel is dry and bitter with a heavy body and medium carbonation. Great beer! Cheers!

Bottle 22oz $10 2015 drank fresh): Black with tan head that disappeared quickly. Aroma sweet roasted malts with some bourbon. Taste some chocolate. Kind of syrupy. light carbonation full body. Not sure where the pecans come in. Some alcohol burn in the end. Good

22 ounce bottle purchased at Nugget in Woodland, CA. Aroma is fairly straight forward with some cocoa powder, light roastiness, and a little bit of anise. Opaque black body with a medium to large light brown foamy head. Starts with a sweet, sugary, chocolate flavoring. Becomes fairly metallic in the middle with a lot of tinny character. Finishes with a bit of an ethanol burn. Kind of sticky, almost as if there is a little diacetyl here, too. I suppose that could be the pecans creating that flavor, however. Regardless, this is decent.
