3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Wegmans Leesburg. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Leaves a little lacing. I get mostly chocolate with a bit of rye. Nice roasty notes on the tongue. Hides itís alcohol very well. Itís solid but not as awesomely flavorful as Iíd hoped for.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Wegmans Leesburg - this is ridiculous. Pours cola with a respectable amount of milk chocolate head. Aroma is oaky, rye, chocolate, and toasty. Taste is sour, bitter chocolate with some dryness on the finish. Itís a weird fusion, but it kind of works.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
22oz bomber from Crossroads. Poured a syrupy pitch black with an average sized foamy dark beige head. Aroma is syrupy with notes of burnt toast, tootsie roll chocolate, honey, cat piss, alcohol. Big big body on this with a full mouthfell loads of heat and surprisingly a dry finish that lingers with loads of heat. Flavor of vanilla extract, burnt charred wood, tar, burnt tobacco, whiskey. Not loving this one Stone I think you went a little too big.

3.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma sweet. Beautiful pour black with tan head. Body of a barleywine, tastes like Beverly crushers snatch. I know, Iím sharing a bottle with Patrick Stewart. finish itís giving me chocolate notes that werenít there at the beginning. And the rye that came through earlier is beginning to wane.

4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
The aroma is reminiscent of booze and roasted malts, and the appearance is opaque black with a small tan head. The taste is mildly bitter, quite umami, and slightly sweet; furthermore, the palate combines an oily texture, soft carbonation, long finish, and a medium body.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Brass Tap Gainesville. Pours pitch black and thick with little brown head. Nutty, roasty chocolate aroma with some toffee. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Sweet barleywine-ish flavor with some chocolate and dry nuts in the background. A little astringent with the alcohol. Some rye flavor. Interesting take on a stout but not really what I was hoping for. Seems to be growing on me as I go.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma a letdown - just faint hints of licorice, coffee, and something a little medicinal. Pitch-black pour; almost no head. Tastes like cough medicine, alcohol, licorice, coffee, and acid. Booze overwhelms almost everything else. Silky mouthfeel and good palate, but who cares that much when much of this is a big swig of cough medication? I usually love Stone, but every once in awhile, they will disappoint me, and this is one such example. You CAN drink this and search around for its better aspects, but a great beer should not require such searching, or have the good aspects too overwhelmed by acid, booze, and cough medication.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Whispering Trees Liquor: I felt lucky to find a bottle of this since every other place that claims to have it didnít have it on the shelf which meant I couldnít buy it that day, Iím so tired of the games just to get a bottle so it was really nice to just see it sitting on the shelf. Aroma is rich and robust with a delicate backing of perfectly roasted malts that suggest chocolate maltshake while a nutty nose of pecans wins me over as one amazing impy stout. The drink is just as rich as my nose led me to suspect and delivers a sweet taste of caramel almost toffee like malts with a heavenly touch of the pecan which reminded me of the gooey filling in actual pecan pie.
