From the most unlikely yet intensely imaginative trio that is actor and uber-geek champion Wil Wheaton, alternative news website Fark.com creator Drew Curtis and Stone CEO/Co-founder Greg Koch, comes an imperial stout unlike any ever made. Brewed with rye, wheat malt and pecans and partially aged in Bourbon whiskey barrels, this viscous yet silken brew erupts with an oaky, nutty bouquet and rich flavors of vanilla, toast and bitter chocolate. Sweet vanilla rye maltiness with a toasty pecan aroma. Nice creamy brown head and dark red almost pitch black body. Sweet vanilla, rye, malts, some dark choclate flavors and nice nuttyness and some alc heat. smooth dry and a little hot on the palate.

Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lingering brown head. Aromas of alcohol, roasted malt, dark chocolate and light pecan. Palate was medium to full bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, pecan, dark chocolate, dark fruit and light alcohol with a smooth lingering roasty chocolate finish. A decent beer nowhere near what I was expecting.

Aromas of cocoa, pecans, almonds, dried cherries, and molasses. Black with a light chocolate-milk-colored head. Dry, roasty, spicy, and a little smokey. Medium-full bodied, well carbonated, strong, pretty smooth, has a little bit of heat on it, and finishes with lingering flavors of savory nuts, dry molasses, and a touch of vanilla.

On tap at Samuel Hornes Tavern. Pours near black with a pretty tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a rich chocolate malt flavor with a powder dry finish that sticks to the palate with a warm alcohol trail.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2014 On tap at lures, pours black with low head. Aroma is roast and whiskey, taste is light bodied with a long alcohol burn, a bit too much for my tastes. On draft at stone, 2.0. Better booze and roast balance, very nice

Pours black with low dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, smoke, german sausage, light oak barrel and wheat. The only thing you can’t smell are the pecans. Taste is big and alcohol sweet initially before a coffee and chocolate bitter finish. Is that actually some pecans I taste there? Quite possibly so. Body is full and creamy with soft carbonation. Lingering coffee and german sausage.

On draft at Monks Kettle. Black in color with a tan head. The aroma is dense cocoa with mild notes of rye whiskey. The flavor is rich and pretty sweet with bigger notes of whiskey, rich chocolate, prailines and a big, bitter roasted finish. Lots of barrel. Really good especially for the price.

On tap at Famous Pizza and Beer in Sedona. Dark brown pour, brown head. Flavors of prunes, raisins, roasted nuts, some alcohol is present. Im guessing 6month or more will help this one.
