3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours super deep black and oily rich with a short lived creamy tan head. You really know that you have a taste explosion in your hands just from the appearance. The aroma is slight, mostly alcohol, oak, and roasted grain. This beer seems to be at it’s prime if it warms up a bit after serving. It is very sweet and bitter at once, with a distinctive nutty quality and rich chocolate and caramel. The 13% is well hidden among the aggressive flavors. Full bodied to the max, syrupy, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a bitter finish. It reminds me of port in a way, very nice. Drink with caution.

22. Thanks so much annie! Pours jet black with a dense and creamy dark tan head. Big roasty sweet peppery rye on the nose, plus wood and apricots and chocolate. Sticky thick body. Peppery rye, chocolate, oak, apricotty bourbon, and smoke on the mid palate. Wonderfully complex and rewarding.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 26, 2013 Pours a thick dark brown with khaki head and good lacing. Smells of chocolate, vanilla, dark fruit and a hint of bourbon. Couldn’t pick up the pecans. Maybe too cold. Taste is sweet dark chocolate, vanilla and the pecans. Hint of bourbon and alcohol. Warming at end but alcohol is well masked. Nice mouthfeel. A fun example of a stout. Can’t wait to try again in a year.

Pours dark with medium latte brown head
Aromas of dark malts, coffee, wee bit of bourbon, dark fruits
Taste has brown sugar, vanilla, dark malts, figs, dades, raisins
Palate starts out very well creamy, round and sweet but ends a bit boozy. A year in cellar would def improve tjis even more

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pitch black with a bubbly quickly dissipating light brown head. Lots of milk chocolate on the nose, some caramel, nuttiness, oaky, light hint of bourbon and booze, and a nice toasted malt note. Lots of booze on the taste of this one, not too bad though cause it fades away to a nice mellow nutty flavor, light bourbon notes, excellent dark bitter chocolate, there’s some oak and caramel, and a nice rye spiciness. Delicious all around. The way the ’special’ ingredients come together is very impressive.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2014 http://imgur.com/Z3wvmXV -- Bottle from Concealer. Pours opaque black with tan head that lasts and laces. Caramel and alcohol on the nose. Drinks easily for 13%. Drinks with an alcohol bite and mild lingering bitterness. Full bodied. Strong coffee flavors with a lingering woody flavor. Warming on the finish. Excellent for the ABV but I wouldn’t want more than a few ounces.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
bottle. oily pour. black. small brown head. dark fruity esters from alcohol with roasted malt, caramel, fruitcake, nougat aroma. lots of toast and roast, but more interestingly tons of vanilla cake notes, candied fruit chews, and caramel. its deliciously sweet to battle the abv. not much hop presence for once in the style. full boded, velvety. i was beginning to think there wasn’t much room for variety in the imp stout catagory, but this reassuring and exciting....And then your mom goes around the corner and she licks it up.

Yummm! Chocolate caramel cola flavors are exploding all over my tongue. Find a little spice on the finish. Hides the alcohol well.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A dark brown cola like color with a a little khaki colored head at first pour that dissipates down to the rim and sticks around. Smells of alcohol, caramel, brown sugar, anise, rye, blueberry. Taste is all over the boards, I get an initial sweet rush of vanilla, caramel toffee that gives way to a coffee and roast with some rye and graininess and finishes with some hop bitter and roastedness. Fairly thick mouthfeel and alcohol is fairly well hidden but still wouldn't want to gulp. Overall very unique and delicious collabo.
