COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the most unlikely yet intensely imaginative trio that is actor and uber-geek champion Wil Wheaton, alternative news website Fark.com creator Drew Curtis and Stone CEO/Co-founder Greg Koch, comes an imperial stout unlike any ever made. Brewed with rye, wheat malt and pecans and partially aged in Bourbon whiskey barrels, this viscous yet silken brew erupts with an oaky, nutty bouquet and rich flavors of vanilla, toast and bitter chocolate. Enjoy now or cellar this celebration of nth degree passion and geekery applied most gracefully to the craft of brewing and collaboration-Drew Curtis/Wil Wheaton/Greg Koch Stone Farking Wheaton w00tstout!

On tap at Taco Mac. Pours deep walnut with mocha head which dissipated fairly quickly. There is little lacing. Malty Roma with the sweetness of bourbon (but actually fairly subtle) along with oak and cherries. Taste is sweet with the bourbon flavor more pronounced than in the aroma, yet not overwhelming. Oak and dark fruit permeate as well. Full bodied with an oily, slick mouthfeel and low carbo. Overall, really nice beer - bourbon barrel aged, but the bourbon only plays a supporting role here - although becomes more pronounced as the beer warms. Abv of 13 percent is well hidden, but warms you up!

Bottle thanks to Andy. 2.0. Dark wooty pour. Brown head, okay retention. Aroma: roasted nuts and chocolate. Caramel and alcohol. Coconut. Sweet, rich, a little oxidation. Full body, slick syrupy texture. Overall: fun intense w00tbrew.

Big bottle in Portland, OR. Nose is chocolate, caramel and sweet anice. Taste is dark fruits, anice, caramel and malts. Really nice and creamy. Sweet, plummy finish with creamy texture. Good stuff. Absurdly high ABV well-hidden.

The basic concept of aroma, taste and body was excellent. But I donít want or need 13% ABV to enjoy a brew! Rather have two 6% brews than this!

22oz bottle from Windsor Hy-Vee, 2016 vintage, in a Sam Smith pint glass. Aromas of milk chocolate, caramel, brown sugar, bourbon and candied fruit. Pours oily black with two fingers of pillowy brown head that dissipates quickly to a thin layer. Surprisingly little carbonation after the pour. Strong flavors of caramel, molasses and maybe even burnt sugar right up front, persisting throughout as notes of vanilla, bourbon and chocolate come and go intermittently in interesting and variable combinations with each sip. Medium-to-full bodied, itís drinkable enough but the syrupy qualities that can make a beer oppressively heavy are recognizable. A little more CO≤ or even a shot of nitro would only improve the balance and depth of the brew. Lightly mouth-coating and sweet. Not astringent. Not a bad stout by any measure! But at the same time, not the ideal flavor profile for me. Bourbon, molasses and caramel really dominate here, and if pecan praline takes you back to your southern upbringing, itís here in spades. Personally, Iíd rather have another glass of that fantastic 20th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate that Stone was bottling last year. A toast to many more fine stouts from Stone!

Tap. Not much of a head, nearly black dense body. Cocoa powder, brown sugar sweetness, dark fruit, and malted milk aromas. Flavor is more bitter with dark chocolate, touch boozy and bourbon, some vanilla, dark fruit and residual sugars. Thicker viscous body and warming.

2016 - a bit young & boozie, but quite nice. Pours a black opaque with a tar colored head that has a fair retention; although, lacings hang on the glass throughout the pour. The nose is roast & chocolate with a subtlety of bourbon. There is a hint of sourness, but it could be my nose at the moment. The flavor is full and rich with roast, chocolate and I can faintly make out the pea cans ..... the wheat certainly adds some nice body and gives it a clean roasted flavor. I'd like to delve a couple of these to see how they age .... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The dummies will like it, but it is not well balanced. This thing is an oily mess; an oil slick. I want to like it, but I canít do it. I donít even know why it is unappealing, but it is. 220z bottle
