It’s no secret we helped create and popularize West Coast style IPAs (since 1997), Double IPAs (since 2000) & Triple IPAs (since 2006). In fact, IPAs of every ilk imaginable are our bread and (hop) butter at Stone Brewing Co., but we’ll be the first to admit that a night of subsisting solely on big IPAs can be a short one. Enter Stone Go To IPA, our session IPA, boasting all the gloriously bitter, citrusy, piney flavor of our bigger / industrial-strength IPAs, but with a significantly lower alcohol-by-volume (4.5%) allowing IPA fans like us to enjoy more of this amazingly, hoppy beer over a longer session, without giving up any of that gloriously crave-able botanically-driven dankness. Well, OK, when you compare to our bigger IPAs you find that you give up some, as that’s what happens when you dramatically lower the abv. And while we work hard to bend the time/space/abv intensity continuum, we’ve admittedly not yet learned to break it. This comes damn close though.

Tap at HBF 2016, Helsinki. Colour is clear light orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, citrus, minerals, hops and malts. Pretty clear but I think west coast hopped ales have problems.

Cirtrus, bread, pine. Pleasant aroma but not what I’d call strong. Pale and a bit too clear for me, huge rocky head too. Taste is predominantly bitter but it’s well balanced. The texture is too thin in my opinion, and the bitter finish is maybe a bit too long. It’s very drinkable though, but there isn’t much to it. Being my first beer from Stone Brewing I was expecting something a bit more special. Not saying it’s a bad beer, just not outstanding. Being relatively expensive to get in Spain, for me it’s not worth it to repeat.

0,33lt bottle @ Valentin - Curious Bierkneipe, Volos, Greece dafuq. Session IPA with HUGE power. Aroma, body, taste - everything’s up hopped and it stays very drinkable. The best so far I’ve had. And 6 months after bottling (bottled October, got it yesterday). All that hops with exotic fruits and grapefruit/grapes are there in aroma and taste. Maybe too much for a session IPA, but it worked for me

Pours as pale as a lager. The aroma is resinous. It smells as fresh a handful of hop pellets which is very impressive given how far this beer has travelled. Flavour is slightly unbalanced on the hoppy side but that's hardly surprising from a session IPA. Very fresh tasting beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Butelka 0,33l zakupiona na Warszawskim Festiwalu Piwa 2016. Złote, mętne, piana przeciętna. Aromat nafty i tytoniu z przebiciami owoców. Smak gotowanych warzyw, trochę cytrusów z goryczką grejpfrutów. Spodziewałem się czegoś ach, ach, ach a dostałem przeciętną IPA, nic szczególnego.

Clear golden with a white head, looks like a macro in the glass but it’s not! Very fruity aroma, taste is mango, fruit, hoppy in the end. Lovely session IPA.

Pours yellow with light head. Aroma is fresh, fresh grass, different fruits, sweet berries, floral notes. Taste is quite same, fresh - a lot of flowers, and fruits, some resin. Quite soft and easy. After reveals strong hops and lilac. Very nice beer!

Pours straw color with a light orange hue and fluffy white head. Aroma is orange zest with sappy pine. Flavor offers more tangerine sweetness with only mild bitter kick and a subtle tartness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to Dblock. Pours a hazy yellow gold with medium creamy off white head that lasts. The aroma is tropical fruit and dank. Medium mouth, juicy, mango, light bitterness, good.
