COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s no secret we helped create and popularize West Coast style IPAs (since 1997), Double IPAs (since 2000) & Triple IPAs (since 2006). In fact, IPAs of every ilk imaginable are our bread and (hop) butter at Stone Brewing Co., but we’ll be the first to admit that a night of subsisting solely on big IPAs can be a short one. Enter Stone Go To IPA, our session IPA, boasting all the gloriously bitter, citrusy, piney flavor of our bigger / industrial-strength IPAs, but with a significantly lower alcohol-by-volume (4.5%) allowing IPA fans like us to enjoy more of this amazingly, hoppy beer over a longer session, without giving up any of that gloriously crave-able botanically-driven dankness. Well, OK, when you compare to our bigger IPAs you find that you give up some, as that’s what happens when you dramatically lower the abv. And while we work hard to bend the time/space/abv intensity continuum, we’ve admittedly not yet learned to break it. This comes damn close though.

Draft. Clear gold pour, thin head. Nose is citrus, fruit, floral. Flavor is biscuit malt and some citrus. Finishes bitter. Not my cup of tea.

On draft at Isaac Newton’s. Body was a bit thin for my taste, but the brew had some nice grassy and pine flavors. It was easy to drink. Not bad.

Single bottle from Julio’s. Pours out a "grassy" light golden color with a frothy white head. Nice citrus aromas and flavor. Very nice flavor and drinkablilty - yes a - "full flavor" IPA indeed. I would rate this higher if it was priced better. I think the idea of "session" brews is that they also need to be affordable. At $12 a six-pack, this is not the case. Stone needs to take a page out of Lagunita’s book and start selling their beers at a better price.

2014/09/28 - Pours a slightly hazy yellow straw colour with a soapy white head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is citrus, floral hops, mild pine, sweet peaches and pineapple. Taste is grapefruit and citrus rind, saltiness, mild pine and mildly spicy hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with slightly biting carbonation and a long finish that is drying and moderately drying. Easy drinking with a great aroma. I just wish that the taste matched the nose a little more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Where and how: bottle 355 ml
Aroma wow, hop infusion, soapy, grassy, pine…mango, high alpha juice feel. Raw backing with tree sap and grape skins.
Appearance :
Top: lighter white top, sparse lace.
Base: bright golden look.
Palate : soft bodied, mild carbonation, bit too flat.
Taste: Floral with plenty of pineapple elements. Low lazy carbonation cant carry all those hops. Felt muted even if with proper profile.

Bottle from DeLaurenti, Seattle
Hazy pale blond color. It has an impressive hop aroma: piney, hempy, musky and citrusy. Dry and lean mouthfeel, the malt flavor is light but present, strong bitterness with a resiny and citrusy character.
Definitively a go-to sIPA.

Very refreshing and drinkable. Lacking the bite of a great IPA, but those are not as drinkable.
