COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s no secret we helped create and popularize West Coast style IPAs (since 1997), Double IPAs (since 2000) & Triple IPAs (since 2006). In fact, IPAs of every ilk imaginable are our bread and (hop) butter at Stone Brewing Co., but we’ll be the first to admit that a night of subsisting solely on big IPAs can be a short one. Enter Stone Go To IPA, our session IPA, boasting all the gloriously bitter, citrusy, piney flavor of our bigger / industrial-strength IPAs, but with a significantly lower alcohol-by-volume (4.5%) allowing IPA fans like us to enjoy more of this amazingly, hoppy beer over a longer session, without giving up any of that gloriously crave-able botanically-driven dankness. Well, OK, when you compare to our bigger IPAs you find that you give up some, as that’s what happens when you dramatically lower the abv. And while we work hard to bend the time/space/abv intensity continuum, we’ve admittedly not yet learned to break it. This comes damn close though.

aroma was very weak, slight citrus..the appearance was somewhat opaque and hazy.the taste was very bitter and overwhelmed the malts, which were nice tasting.very unbalanced.one the palate was light to medium and average at best.i was disappointed in this beer, since it had high ratings.

355ml bottle pours a pale golden orange color with a finger and a half of white head that settles down to reveal some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is pine and citrus. Taste is a pine and citrus hop bitterness with a grainy malt sweetness. Light bodied with decent carbonation leaving a tickle on the palate. A great IPA that can be had all evening long and enjoyed.

Bottle from Bo Brooks’ Lighthouse Liquors, Baltimore. Golden, with a slick, white, head. Grapefruit, grassy hops and a sweet malt aroma. Flavour had plenty more fruit, and rich and sweet malts. Finish was dryish. Good.

Crisp thin dark yellow. Light head. Moderate hop scent with some malt sweetness. Strong hops with balanced malt. Citrus and pineapple. Mouth drying. A bit of Mellon. Would not miss a beat drinkin a few of these and saving some ABV and probably some calories.

Gold/orange pour with creamy white head and lace. Aroma is light malt and resiny hops. Flavor is hops and medium malt. Medium bodied and fizzy. A drinker especially at the abv. I like

12 oz bottle. BB 11/15/14. (World Market) Chattanooga, TN.
Slightly cloudy golden colour with a small white head. Super fruity aroma with tropical fruits, pineapple, peach and mild grapefruit. Some fruity sweetness and mild maltiness in the aroma. Great! The flavour is fruity, piney and resiny hoppy, mild bitterness and only a tad of maltiness. Very thin.

Draft to taster Tons of spruce and a little citrus. Light yellow, ringed white head. This is wheat, citrus, barnyard yeast.

On tap. Pours a light clear gold with light head. Aromas of pineapple/tropical fruit, resin-y Pacific Northwest hops, and light toasted malts. Flavors carry the same but disappear quickly leaving a light watery middle. Lingering bitter finish. Good attempt for an ISA though expecting more.

On tap at craft. Slightly cloudy pale yellow. Bright citrus aroma, candied sugar, pine. Taste is bittersweet. Subtle, lasting dry finish.

Uff-da...all bitterness and no balance :( Bottle pour with thin white head and decent lacing, hazy yellow color. Pleasant hop aroma, but taste is pure bitterness with bitter finish. I enjoy a well-hopped ale, but this does nothing for me. Actually it's worse than that, it's so poorly balanced it's almost offensive. I've tasted (and enjoyed) higher-IBU beers, but the complete lack of malt back is a travesty. ---Rated whilst imbibing

Looks.. Vibrant mustard yellow, sml head. Smells.. Pine, citrus, full hop scents, light caramel malts. Tastes..grapefruit citrus, piney, resinous, caramel and healthy bitter finish. Probably the best low abv ipa I’ve had, extra points.
