COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s no secret we helped create and popularize West Coast style IPAs (since 1997), Double IPAs (since 2000) & Triple IPAs (since 2006). In fact, IPAs of every ilk imaginable are our bread and (hop) butter at Stone Brewing Co., but we’ll be the first to admit that a night of subsisting solely on big IPAs can be a short one. Enter Stone Go To IPA, our session IPA, boasting all the gloriously bitter, citrusy, piney flavor of our bigger / industrial-strength IPAs, but with a significantly lower alcohol-by-volume (4.5%) allowing IPA fans like us to enjoy more of this amazingly, hoppy beer over a longer session, without giving up any of that gloriously crave-able botanically-driven dankness. Well, OK, when you compare to our bigger IPAs you find that you give up some, as that’s what happens when you dramatically lower the abv. And while we work hard to bend the time/space/abv intensity continuum, we’ve admittedly not yet learned to break it. This comes damn close though.

Bright yellow color with a full white head - looks like a good German Pilsner. The nose turns that perception on its ear, as it is a wonderland of grapefruit, pine and resin aromas. The flavor is a bit more subdued, with strong echoes of the flavors listed above. A nice crisp mouthfeel, with a very dry finish. The only thing missing is the alcohol - otherwise, a perfect west coast IPA. Perfect for day drinking - on an aside, my pilsner-loving, craft-hating wife thought this was really good - high praise... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very full taste with plenty of hops. A medium kind of bitterness and a taste that lingers, with notes of hay and wood and fruit. Just excellent.

0.33 can.
A clear, gold color and a large, thin, white head. Aroma of pines, citruses, a lot of tropical fruits, some strawberries, and a ton of hop pellets. Taste is medium sweet, fruity, floral, a tad malty - not as good as expected. A medium body, a thin texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is long and skillfully combines hay with exotic fruits. Overall the beer is just alright, nothing particularly great about it - the biggest advantage is that it does not offend in any respect.

All round one of my favourite session IPA’s. Lovely west coast / pacific Hop blend nose coming through with topical notes and a pallet thats solid and filled with the perfect amount of bitterness for an IPA fix. Pours golden and good head, medium length. well balanced

sessionable and extremely easy to drink, with a lovely stone fruit nose and pallet. good bitterness and short length, so you get the IPA hit, but then can come back for more

Started the wrong way around., Went Ruination first.. Go To is fantastic, love the solid hop character on the pallet, and fruity nose. It drinks really easily with a good bitterness that allows this to be easily sessionable.

Personal favourite for Session IPA’s and shows Stone is the master when it comes to the IPA style. Love their work.

one of things i really enjoy about a good IPA is that they have a good strong aroma, the go to IPA does not let the side down with a very strong citrus aroma like ive stuck my nose right into an orange. the beer itself pours into a great golden body with an expansive white head.the flavour of the beer is a hoppy citrus. its a great experience, when it comes to beer.
