Since Day One, we’ve been abundantly forthright and fully transparent about our lust for hops. It’s led us to craft many an IPA, most of them imperial—some intense for their time and all timeless in their intensity. For Stone Go To IPA, we are embracing our hop obsession in a new way, funneling an abundance of lupulin-borne bitterness into a "session" IPA delivering all the fruity, piney character of a much bigger IPA. To accomplish this, we employed "hop bursting," a new technique wherein an irrational amount of hops is added during the final phase of the brewing process to coax out extreme flavors and aromas while also imparting a burst of desirably pleasant bitterness. The result is an Alpha-acid-rich beer that fans can enjoy more of without missing out on the assertive hop character you, like us, crave. So, sit back and go two with your new everyday go-to IPA and bask along with us in the glory of the almighty hop.

Light crispy aroma. Sharp bitterness with not much other flavor. Was really expecting it to be better. Still not bad. Just not as drinkable for me as I would have thought.

12oz bottle picked up at The Grapevine
Pours cloudy orange with a medium size white head, good lacing. When I popped the cap off you could smell dank hops. In the glass it smells great, hops, tropical fruit and citrus. Flavors are fruity, citrus, pine resin and herbal
This would be my Go to IPA if I could get it regularly, very good.

With sessionable IPAs all-the-rage, Stone’s Go To IPA stands out as one of the leaders. What’s so admirable about this beer is Stone’s restraint & balance in it’s hop profile - a exceptionally drinkable IPA that doesn’t feel like you’re sacrificing.

12 oz bottle from Steve Pours a light hazy yellow lovely hop aroma much stronger then you would expect from a lighter ipa A little thin on the palette but a really nice bitterness to the finish A very good session IPA

Pours light yellow gold with a small white head. Aroma is mango, tangerine, grapefruit. Taste is tropical fruits and citrus with a lengthy bitterness that peaks in the finish. Nice.

[Bottle] Pours a clear light orange color with a fizzy and quickly receding white head. Nose is solidly hoppy, with citrus and lighter grassy notes. The taste is very similar. High acid hops add a lot of bitterness to this, but the underlying malt profile is light. Lingering bitterness is long lasting. I found the acrid bitterness and light body threw off the balance somewhat.

Fad: Taster på brewpub. Let kattepis men jeg fornemmer det ikke så tydelig. Pilsnergul klar med et lille skumhoved. Mundfylden er lidt tynd på denne ellers meget lækre og friske lille ipa. Lækker lille session.

12oz bottle, drank from bottle on Beer Train 2014. The aroma a sweet, juicy citrus with bread and a light candy/sugar note. There’s an abundant soapy head within the bottle that leaves a decent lacing, and I can tell the liquid is fairly clear, but can’t tell too much else through the bottle, Stone’s reputation gets them at least the medium rating in terms of appearance. It’s a medium high bitter with a medium sweetness to it. The body is surprisingly big for a session IPA - I’d say medium full - with a waxy slick texture and active carbonation. It finishes dry and clean with notes of pine, citrus peel and caramel syrup. The aftertaste is bitter and dry citrus, but it’s mellow.

Appearance: Pours a vibrant clear yellow gold with a white sudsy head that quickly falls to a film.

Aroma: Bright citrus zest, skunky sativa strain medical marijuana. Those not familiar with that odor, I would say tropical fruit and a dash of cumin.

Taste: Quick punch of bitter ‘Stone’ hops, some spicy Euro hop bitterness, some citrus rind, crisp pale malt. Mineral water. Finishes earthy and bitter. Lingers well past the sip.

Mouthfeel: Thin, juicy, average carbonation.

Overall: Since Enjoy By’s inception, I dreamt of an Enjoy By “Junior” for those evenings that I wanted to take it easy, or had to get up especially early the next day. This product completely met my expectations in that regard. It was refreshing, tasty, extraordinarily drinkable, almost too drinkable for someone so addicted to hops. As with all these new “Session IPAs”, please be very mindful of the bottle date code. There really isn’t much to this beer once the hops leave, and I hope I never live to find out what this beer is like old.

12 oz bottle. Pours a bright yellow, large rocky white head, leaves medium soapy lacing on the glass. Huge grapefruit and orange aroma. Taste doesn’t quite measure up to the aroma, slightly thin mouthfeel indicative of the style. One of the best session IPA’s out there.

Bottle. Date printed right on the curve and smudged past the point of being able to read. Fizzy and yellow, wish i still had that stone bastard glass with the fuzzy yellow beer is for sissies. Anyway this thing packs a pretty nice hop punch for only 4.5%. Strong grapefruit and lots of bitterness. Has a nice lasting bitter aftertaste. It’s bud light appearance is the only thing keeping it under a 4 for me, still Possibly a bit underrated on here. Not quite sure about the 11.99 price tag when the slightly better sidekick was right next to it for $2 cheaper. But at 4.5%, This one might be a better choice in a bar when you want to have a quick pint or two and then drive.
