3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured from the tap into a Rogue pint glass.
The color is clear orange/gold with a foamy white head and some nice lacing.
The smell is bright hops with some fresh hop aroma. Fresh cut grass is in the nose with a tangerine aroma sweetening things up and making it citrus smelling.
The taste is nice piney hops with sweet light malty goodness. A nice citrus flavor with hints of tangerine and tangy grapefruit. Much like Enjoy By IPA, the flavor has that same earthy grass taste.
The feel is light bodied and goes pretty damn easy. A tasty beer in a light session-able package. Some flavor reminiscent of bigger IPAs but has lightness that is very drinkable.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
101st Stone beer. coincidence? i think not cause they just took every other session ipa to school. session ale 101. Every time I start to have even an inkling of a doubt that Stone is my favorite brewer, they release something else that makes me feel like an idiot for ever doubting. Most likely my new favorite session IPA, and easily the best one I can find fresh on the shelves here in Reno. Huge hop aroma and flavor and more than adequate bittering. The body is thinnish, but not nearly as watery as some, and better than some 6-7% IPAs. Fruit and pine galore, and even hints of sweetness to balance. Knocks of All Day & Alpha Session. Reminiscent of the SD Session Pale from a few years ago, but hoppier."

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Lightly hazed blonde pour. Yellow pepper, dandelion glue, crushed herb aroma, flamboyant and pungent. The flavor seems elusively weird. New fangled weedy hops have overgrown the citrus, the needles, the fresh bright fruit. Garlic, crushed fennel seeds, celery seed and leaves, and bile-like green papaya. The starkness of these hops is too much for this style. The palate is lightly acidic, lacking the dry mineral content that frames the best examples. Finishes with a marjoram and nettle green bitterness. The weirdness of this satisfies curiosity; my experience of this tap version is decidedly more vegetable, weed and herb heavy than any prior version, and possibly an outlier.

12oz bottle decanted into pint glass. Pours a very pale see-through golden color with a medium lasting sticky white head. Nose of earthy pine, apricot, and pineapple. Flavors of resin, grass, pine, bitter hops and cascade hops. Very thin on the mouth. Big flavor from a low abv.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Ellyn’s Tap & Grill in Glen Ellyn, IL., and dispensed to a shaker showing a hazed, gold color, with a presentable layer of frothy, white head foam, and a wavy display of lacing. The aroma was an expressive nose of pine, white grapefruit, and pineapple. The taste’s intro was a subtle malty smoothness, before being struck by a very strong citrus, resin, & rind hop bitterness that possessed some dryness, and lingered well past the finish, overwhelming even my buffalo wings in intensity. Light to medium bodied, lively carbonation successfully projected these flavor notes. Hop bomb with low buzz, maybe just a bit abrasive, but love the concept!

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A- Citrus, juicy, peaches, pine, tangerines.
A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head.
T- Citrus, juicy, piney, bitter.
P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, citrusy bitter finish.
O- Wow, talk about an amazing aroma. Big juicy citrus smells. Sadly, my bottle was a month past the nest by date. Had it been fresh, the taste might have equaled the nose, but it just didn’t quite match up. None the less, the first Stone beer I’ve ever really really liked. Well done.
