On tap at the Well in KC. Poured clear deep golden with wispy bright white head. Lots of lacing. Nose is floral, citrus, pine, weed, wheat. Flavors of green, fresh hops, citrus and resin. Pleasant, mild hop bitterness and reasonable malt backbone. A little thin on the body but overall this is really nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mild aroma compared to most ipas. Flavor is nothing to write home about. Hazy brown orange hue. Its an IPA and that’s about it.

Aroma - heavy floral, citrus, fruit, mild spiciness; Appearance - deep golden, faint haze, fluffy head, laces extremely well; Taste - sharp hop flavor from front to back, strong citrus notes, finish is very long with a noticeable bitterness; Palate - crisp yet not overly done, pretty average body; Overall - a classic hop bomb, not too complex, just a ton of hops.

Pours a lovely golden brown with clean white head. Aroma is a citrus and pine, hops way out front. Taste is all of the hops, with a nice clean finish. Solid west coast IPA.

Classic American hops on the nose. A strong resinous bitterness coupled to a delicate and balanced citrus note. Quite oily but it retains a lovely balanced quality.

12oz bottle poured into tulip glass. Enjoy by 05.07.12 date Aroma: Getting hardly anything here. a tiny bit of lemongrass and citrus hops. some malt and caramel. floral hops as well Appearance: light yellowish orange color, very clear and a little bit of stark white head that faded quickly. doesn’t lace glass. very few bubbles rising Taste: medium sweet, mild sour, mild bitter. maltiness comes out here. Palate: mild sweet, medium sour, medium bitter aftertaste. average carbonation. medium body and oily/creamy texture. Overall: This just isnt doing anything for me. Couldn’t detect hardly any floral or citrus hops. My bottle is a few days away from the best by date. I may re-rate this in the future with a fresher bottle. Not overly bitter. Very drinkable for 6.9%. It is a decent beer but i was expecting much more from the ratings and description from Stone.

Originally reviewed: 11/16/08. Pours a murky deep orange with only about an inch’s worth of head. This dissipates to a thin sheet. Excellent rings along glass edge. Smells of very strong hops and floral and definitive citrus. Nice crisp scent. Strong smack of grapefruit hits the palate. Nice crisp hop bittterness. This is a great IPA. This is the quinticential crisp bitter ale. Not too bad of a mouthfeel. Crisp, clean, tasty.

Definitely hoppy as advertised. Didn’t find it as citrusy as some have claimed, and would have liked a little more malt to balance the hops, but still very good. Prefer their double IPA, Ruination, which is in my top 5 all-time beers.
