dand645 (64), Bayonne, New Jersey, USA Aug 2, 2009 beautiful golden pour with a nice size, white head...nose and flavor full of hops...lingering aftertaste...very nice eje (8), , New York, USA does not count Aug 2, 2009 Bottled and draft. A very light amber. Bitter beer with a slight floral arrangement. #2 IPA in my book - right behind Two Hearted. Duhast500 (176), , Massachusetts, USA Aug 2, 2009 Poured from the 12oz. bottle into a pint glass.
The color is yellowish gold color, with a foamy white head.
The smell is quite hoppy. A bit piny and floral.
The taste is sweet with a blend of citric hops, floral hops, and some peppery feel to it as well.
I have heard many good things about Stone brewery and the IPA that they brew. I have yet to be misled by BA reviews in the past so I picked this up and gave it a try.
One of the best IPAs that I have ever tried, hell, one of the best beers I’ve ever tried. A great spicey hop taste that is just what you would expect from a good IPA but is also quite drinkable.
italianjohn (338), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 1, 2009 Gotta love a piney smelling ipa .... Pours an orange hazy gold with white head awesome citrus piney aroma and a great hoppy taste through and through finishes dry with a lasting aftertaste very clean beer excellent ipa rawhydes1 (3), , Pennsylvania, USA does not count Jul 31, 2009 EASILY my favorite IPA. Can’t get enough of the citrus and grapefruit hops. Lip puckering, yet refreshing.
Give mre more. 13mikey (118), New Hope, Minnesota, USA Jul 29, 2009 Updated: Oct 8, 2009White head, golden/orange in color. Prominent smell besides the wonderful hops was pine. Very refreshing major hops taste with a beautifully smooth finish. DandyWolfFloyd (331), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 27, 2009 Aroma is noticeably full of those Pacific North Western hop varieties, no grapefruit citrus present. The flavor is a great balance of strong hops and malts, no citrus to speak of. Appearance is a bit boring and bland. the head is nil, with barely a thin white collar and a coppery color. The palate is a superb balance, with a lingering bitter aftertaste nice hop-malt. TwoDudes (77), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jul 26, 2009 I like this beer alot....a fine representation of the WC IPA...I’ve had better, but I’ve had many, many worse...I still prefer Ruination...................................................
