livelaughlovep (96), Lakewood, Ohio, USA May 28, 2009 Orange amber hue, grapefruit, citrus & resin profile. Perfume, herb, caramel malt nose. Crisp and acceptably bitter finish. Again, agree with Pipper, not my favorite IPA but its a decent one.
Sampled at Rozi’s Wine & Liquor, Stone Tasting Event, Lakewood, OH. fidel (886), Livermore, California, USA May 25, 2009 Poured orangish golden, crisp, piney hops, citrus, little caramel, little malty. JediMindTricks (240), Hampton, Virginia, USA May 23, 2009 12oz. Golden-ish pour with creamy head, standard. Hoppy bitter citrus, loads of caramel malts....it is what it is... manuchampions (95), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada May 23, 2009 12oz bottle. So staggeringly drinkable. The hops are evident from the moment the cap is popped. I had this alongside some excellent IPA’s and it stood just that extra step above. Thick, viscous mouthfeel and evident complexity of hops with just the right malt backing to convince the drinker that they are in the hands of a master brewer. Wonderfully long finish. Tantalizingly good from the best IPA brewers in the country. davidajensen (31), Nashville, Tennessee, USA May 23, 2009 Great beer. The smell is hoppy, but inviting. I think that is my favorite feature of the beer. Good session beer. crimson7 (1), Toms River, New Jersey, USA does not count May 22, 2009 Purchased by a friend while videotaping a Jazz/Fusion show. I had one hand on the camcorder and the other on a glass of some now forgotten Flying Fish offering when a shift of the wind brought a Stone IPA into my reality. I hadn’t been the same since. Thank you Stone for big hops, ruination, arrogance and a reason to pursue other Stone offerings. tylerss20 (101), New Hampshire, USA May 21, 2009 Good for the style. Just a little too much for me. High marks for quality, low on drinkability. Not my favorite style, so keep my bias in mind when considering my rating. Another solid stone offering. Rciesla (3510), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 21, 2009 Bottle and Draft. Pours a copper body with a white head. Earthy chewy, caramel with a light bubblegum character to it. A good ipa but more IBUs would really make this crazy.
