4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2006 12 oz. bottle: pours a golden yellow with a good inch and a half of head. aroma was a full floral bouquet of hops with some malt. Flavor is full of hoppy goddness, cirtus, pine, with some malt character balancing, but this one is on the hoppy side of ipas. Really enjoyable. had with hot wings, palate was oily. Awesome brew
Draught: golden color with about half an inch of head. The aroma was still or floral hops, however I felt like this batch was stiving more for balance than for hoppiness. Iím not sure if it is the beer or if my palate is just used to heavier hop content. Lots of citrus flavor that heads to earthy notes as it warms and finishes. Palate is slightly oily. This is a very nice IPA

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a very hazy amber color. Beer has a mild hoppy taste to it, also has a very well balanced malty aftertaste to it. The hops in this brew have great flavor, with grassy, pine undertones. Also has hints of citrus in it also. Very good!!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours hazy amber with tan head and trace lacing. Donít know what happened to the IBUs -- this beer is dominated by the hop aroma but I found the bitterness somewhat lacking. Citrus and pine flavors are dominant but the aftertaste reminded me of pickles (and yes, maybe a touch of strawberry). I found the beer to be quite overcarbonated which does it a disservice by bringing out some of the less pleasant aftertaste notes.

First and foremost I am usually not a IPA fan, I prefer darker beers. But this is quite a well made beer. Very Very Hoppy with a lot of flavor in it. A little bit of bitterness and a fruity flavor but overall a good beer. This is my first Stone Bewing Beer so I look forward to trying the rest of the line-up

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Strawberry! This has been my standby draught at Tonyís on Newport in OB since they added the handle. But that aftertaste, that particular flavor has been eluding me until tonight, when I finally figured out what it was. STRAWBERRY! Maybe nobody else will agree, but after the lingering predictable IPA markers like piney, grassy, citrusy hop signatures, there is the one element that remains that truly elevates one IPA above the other, and that is the lasting impression: i.e., the aftertaste. Sometimes it is hop-based, sometimes it is a malt remnant that lingers. In the case of this one, there is a slight bit of malt that conflicts with the hovering hops. The end result, to me, is exactly like the aftertaste of eating fresh strawberries. Truly unique. And blah blah blah...pours and looks and has the same retention of every other IPA out there. Not that thereís anything wrong with that.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAY 15, 2006 Being a hophead, I chose this as my first beer ever to rate here on ratebeer.com. I love beers with big hop flavor and, while Iíve had beers with hops that jump out at you more than this one, it definitely has a very respectable hop taste. It poured a nice amber color with a frothy off-white head, a slightly cloudy body, and sparse lacing. The aroma was floral, pine, and citrus Ė what you would expect in an IPA. The palate was light and thin. The best part of this beer was actually drinking it. The flavor was bursting with hops Ė citrus with a bitter finish. This is a great beer and I will definitely drink it again.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beautiful little unclear golden body, white creamy head; The nose is huuuge and complex but isnít as deep as expected, very beautiful though. Everything an IPA could possibly offer: Pine in every imaginable way, lemon, lime, later loads of citrus together with a little malty bread. It has character and is great; The body has great balance, but isnít as bitter as expected and not as complex as expected, the texture is a little creamy, big soft carbonation; The finish is actually a bit watery, it lacks fill and power, the bitterness is quite big, without being big enough. Again citrus, but here the pine is the most dominant. In the very late finish the citrus is back. Great beer, but the body doesnít live up to the nose. Great thanks to Numenor for this one!

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very nice golden tan pour, with a nice white, quickly fading head. Aroma is of citrus, lemon and grapefruit. Some pine as well. Tast was mor citrus, and pine then anything. Just a small touch of malt maybe? A little to bitter and spicey bitterness for me. Wnjoyable but not one I will really seek out again.

Pours a clear orange with no head. Very hoppy, somewhat malty. Aroma is flowery and cirtusy. Bitter finish. Very drinkable although a little too watery.

Bottle. I think I can say sex in a bottle. Pours a nice light orange color with an inch of white head. Nose is of hops. Taste is very bitter but drinkable. Not too much of anything. An amazing IPA.
