Wow--a truly unique, refreshing brew. Pours a remarkable golden color. Aroma is strong and citrusy, and quickly permeates a large room. The initial taste is one of amazing character--an obvious bitter taste of hops, but also combined with a distinct maltiness and a spicy citrus flavor. The body is medium, as advertised, and the finish is smooth, citrusy and very long-lasting. The alcohol warms the stomach intensely. If you can withstand the bitterness, this is a beer with amazing character.

Best before 9-2-04.Aroma is a perfect balance of pale malts and a tease of crystal with some nice earthy hops, very little citrus or grapefruit compared to say the Smutty IPA.Nice deep gold with a somewhat short head with some good lacing. This beer is all about balance and overall quality.Lots of hops with the same amout of malt to make this one hell of a session IPA.Very nice but like many hyped beers,I wanted more hops.Maybe next time?

UPDATED: MAY 15, 2012 Even after all of these years this is one of my favorite IPAs .+++ Sampled from a 12 oz bottle this fine brew pours a clear orange color with a medium sized yellowish head. There is a strong hop aroma with both flowery and grapefruity elements. The flavor is heavily hopped with much grapefruit coming through but there is also a strong malt presence that balances this beer far better than their Ruination.

The head vanishes almost instantly but the crisp bitter bite of this brew makes up for any set backs in its appearance or aroma. You got to give it up to Stone brewers for creating these damn good recipes and expierments they do.

Best IPA Iíve had to date...no question. Pronounced hops but not rough on the taste buds. Beautiful deep gold color and thick head. Citrus flavor with little aftertaste. The above average acohol content gives it a warm feeling on the way down. Well done stone. Iíll have to try the rest of the line.

Pours a deep golden colour with a thick head. Standard I.P.A. aromas ie. citrus hops, malts. The taste is a knockout punch. Big hops, pine, citrus, grapefruit, some peaches strong malt backbone, nice mouthfeel. A great I.P.A.

Thanks to Lord Gorlock for this one. Pours a amber/golden color with fairly active carbonation and a rocky, dense head. Aroma is wonderful, fruity hops and not much else. Flavor is very tasty, but lack balance. Of course, this is an American IPA, so what did I expect? Hop flavor is exceptional, and mouthfeel is smooth. Great lacing in glass. Iíd definitely like to try more beers by this brewer.

poured a light golden color with a thick whte with impressice retention. Flavor was mildly sweet with a good hoppy bite that was not to overpowering just right for the other flavors in the beer. I could detect a skight lemony presence in aroma and flavor. good ipa

Pours a nice light copper color. Very aromatic. Smells very hoppy with some sweetness. Power hop flavor. They did it with this IPA, very hoppy but so well balanced. Little alcohol kick at to give it a nice finish.

Poured bright orange with a thin short lasting head...smelled a little sweet with strong earthy undertones...a little malty and first on the tongue and then very very hoppy...finished crisp and warm...great IPA
