bottled: i have had this a couple of times as many of us have and i really cant say enough. this to me is the standard for american IPA’s. its unbelievable. now ive argued the arrogant and double bastard hype...they arent that great but are good. this is stones great beer. one hundred percent over the top hop kick you in the ass style flavor. the golden color on the beer is almost hypnotic, not your typical color and look. just perfection in a glass. more of a floral hops then citrus and vanilla buttery smoothness. i enjoy this to ruination just because its a notch down with a little less alcohol that is very drinkable. this is the benchmark and the goldstandard. lets see someone outdo this. im rarely this kind to beers but this is superb.

Beautiful, golden color. Great head. Great tastes, oh the hops. It was bitter, but in the best possible way. I want more.

Slightly hazy amber body, medium sized frothy white head. Aroma abounds with hops; piney, resiny, delicious hops. Flavor is the same, big citrus notes and lots of sticky hops. This is backed up by a sweet malty backbone and it finishes dry and peppery. I’m so glad I finally got my hands on some Stone brews! Even my girlfriend loved it and she’s normally not an IPA fan at all.

Too a trip to Dallas and had the chance to pick this brew that is unavailble to us in Fl. The aroma was as hoppy as I have ever had and the finish is dry and bitter. Good beer if this is your style

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2008 As far as an IPA goes, this is perfection. Pours a perfect amber color with a great white head that lasts long and it leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is filled with hops. Taste is slightly sweet at first then ends with a nice light bitterness. Very smooth and creamy. Great brew.

UPDATED: JUN 11, 2004 mmmmm...hops. It is a clear rich gold poor with a nice white head. Very nice citrusy, floral hops in the aroma. Oh, but the hops are a powerful (and pleasureable) presence. Slight malty sweetness help balance those oh so lovely biting hops. I really love this one and would have it again in a heart beat.

Very bold and fruity but a bit creamier than most IPA’s. A very good offering. I hope to find more Stone IPA variations to compare against.

Pours golden clear with a small white head. Aroma is pure hops as expected, but this one does not impress me. Grapefruit rind and hops in the taste. Good, but not great.
