SudzGuru (5), Anaheim, California, USA does not count Feb 2, 2009 Nice aroma that makes this IPA inviting at first. I was expecting a stronger bite with claim of over 70 IBU’s listed. There was a lingering finish on palate, but not crisp & clean like other West Coast IPA’s. lawless (8), , California, USA does not count Feb 2, 2009 Wow!!! I always had an impression of stone being very hoppy so before i tried the IPA I had already mad a decision. ha I was wrong. This beer had a mild aroma for a microw and I would have to say that it had a very nice finish especially for having 77ibu’s. I find it hard to believe that it is this high. LAbrewcrew (7), , Alabama, USA does not count Feb 2, 2009 This is a good tasting IPA. There is a great aroma to this beer with a fruity/hoppy finish. It is a heavier style compared to others. Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Feb 2, 2009 12 oz bottle. Hazy orange body with a diminishing off-white head. Aroma is fruity peaches and grapefruit. Flavor is medium sweet malty with notes of caramel and a nice balanced bitterness. It actually does not feel as bitter as 70 IBU, but there is a clean pronounced bitterness. Lovely. homeslice (36), , California, USA Feb 1, 2009 Updated: Feb 15, 2009Orange body with gold highlight and frothy polished white creamy top, semi-transparent. Smells like Belium Dubbel ale, white chocolate, caramel and toffee. Tastes like a lighter Double as well with light hops, caramel, and butter. Light midway bite. Expecting more of a hoppier IPA. luttonm (275), Belgrade, Serbia Feb 1, 2009 12oz. Golden-ish pour with creamy head, standard. Hoppy bitter citrus, loads of caramel malts. Sweet spot of IPAs, excellent west coast example. Crisp. shackinetics (132), Florida, USA Jan 30, 2009 Golden to light amber pour with more than a finger of a head. Decently hoppy aroma. Flavor of strong pine and grapefruit. Extremely smooth, but not quite the hop BITE I’m looking for. Nice alchohol content.
Not sure why I’m not raving about this as much as others - guess I’ll have to try it again :) KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA Jan 30, 2009 Slightly hazy golden pour with a two finger fluffy white head that leaves a nice lacing. Nice hop aromas with a solid malt backbone. Taste at first is not as inviting as the aroma. An odd bitterness here with a smooth pine taste towards the finish. The hops really come out as it warms up. Heavy lacing as well.
