This beer is awesome. The aroma is lightly floral, with some citrus notes. It pours a clear golden color, with a small cream head. The palate is wonderful, It is soft, rich, somewhat buttery as well. It is hopped just right. It is fully bitter, and the finish is nice and dry.

Wonderful aroma and a big, thick puffy head to match. Bitterness well balanced with malt and extreme citrus sweetness. Really great to drink and deserves its high rating.

While IPA's are not my favorite, this one was pretty good. Stone seems to make some good beers.

growler Hop flowers and carmel malts in the nose. Nice creamy head that thinned out but sustained. Balanced earthy citrus and creamy carmel malts. Resiny and smooth. Nutty bitter hoppy finish with biscuty malts.

UPDATED: APR 8, 2003 creamy, lasting head, good lacing. Big, juicy, in your face hop aromas. Impressive medium-full body and viscous mouthfeel. Rich and sweetish malt flavors and a long bitter finish. This is a big IPA and definitely an all-time favorite. Thanks to urbnhautebourg!

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2003 re-rate: This is much better than I first thought. It's drier than Stone Ruination, and slightly less bitter, but not a bad IPA by any means! A wide variety of hoppiness fill the flowery/aromatic flavor. Some citrus, like grapefruit, too. The carbonation is just right. There is not much head retention. Very smooth and easy to drink. It reminds me why I love IPA's.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2003 Re-rate - Expected more hops? What was I thinking? This is perfectly hopped. Huge floral hop nose. Intense flavor, with the perfect malt to hop balance. A great IPA, though slightly inferior to the Ruination. Original, 3.9 - Nice color and lacing. Decent aroma of hops and sweetness. I really expected more hops in the flavor, but it is creamy and mildly sweet, which I find enjoyable. This is a prett good IPA, but 90 Minute and Hop Devil are better. Thanks Racegoer!

Granted I’m a hop fanatic, but wow. Strong hoppy and floral notes right up front. You know what you are getting yourself into. I’ll just let you read the other reviews while I have another one.
