By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Appealing amber color with a nice hoppy aroma. Nice and smooth going down. Great beer with after taste of hops around my mouth. I get a nice warm feeling as I finish this beer.

(Bottle) Very exciting opportunity here - my first Stone! Pours a thinly laced, white head and a gorgeous golden body. Papaya, pear and hops nose. Nice balance, full bodied, hoppy flavour with a smooth, lightly bitter finish. Truly a worthy beer of the highest percentile - and the aroma is captivating. Cheers to CiderGuy for making this fine beer available to me!

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2007 Nice color and off white head start this much anticipated brew. Nose is dry hoppy with a little grapefruit aroma, as well. Very nice, and well balanced, and it has an almost pilsner-like quality to it! Flavor is also quite hoppy, but this has to be the smoothest hoppy beer I’ve ever had. The hops just seem to roll from the front of the tongue to the back, leaving with a medium bitterness aftertaste, which again fades into notes of grapefruit. Truly a wonderful IPA!

Huge hop aroma and also a light touch of mint. Medium orange in color. Taste is nice hops, not real green and not overly mellow. Sweet and somewhat fruity finish, like a fine cider. Could have used a littel more cabonation and head.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2009 Light golden color with a full head. Smells like apples, little like peaches, almost like apple cider, very sweet aroma. Wow, so bittersweet, very dry, with very full and enjoyable hop flavors. Not as sweet as it smells, but more balanced.

An excellent IPA. I like this one better than ruination because of the slightly lesser hops content. A great floral smell, beautiful look, and an amazing fruity, hoppy flavor.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2007 Its not as overpowering as Ruination, its the perfect balance of hops and malt. Apperance is copper with a moderate head. Aroma is of oranges, pine, and hops. I could smell this all day! Flavor is hoppy with a complexity of citrus and pine. The hops are not as overpowering as one might believe based on Stone’s reputation. An absolute beauty of an IPA.

Draft and on cask at the Stone Kickoff at the Blind Tiger Ale House in NYC. Tale of two different monsters here. The draft version was a good solid IPA with just the right amount of hop flavor. The cask was like drinking a totally different beer. It smelled and tasted florally (sp) with a good hop bite. Was a little more cloudy then the draft.

Thick rocky head that disappears quite quickly. Pale golden color. Enormous amounts of lace on the glass. Looks like a traditional IPA. Smells of hops and sweet flowers, a nice balanced aroma. Hopped quite well with a suttle balance between the hops and the malts. I like the Ruination better. However, this is better than most IPA's on the market that I have had.
