Nice bite! Great for an IPA - maybe the best Iíve had (Iíll have to check the old records). Great bitter biting hops.

Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. I didnít think this stacked up to Ruination but it is still a contender. Dry, biting hops keep it interesting but it is still easy to drink. Keep íem coming Stone!

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2003 Upon uncapping the bottle, the smell of Cascade hops fills the room. It pours a medium golden color with a decent puffy head. Lots of aromatics and sweet malt mix together with a generous amount of hops to give this brew tremendous flavor and drinkability. Sweet malty body is well balanced with the perfect amount of citrusy hops. I just wish I could get more of this stuff around here. Thanks jcalabre.

This is a great IPA but itís definitely for the experienced American IPA drinker. Brits wouldnít enjoy this beer because it is too far over the top for a Britís idea of an IPA. Here in the U.S. we love IPAs as hoppy as we can get them and among American IPAs, this one is damn good.

What a great ALE. From the aroma to the texture, a classic. One of the best mouth feels on a beer that Iíve had in a long time.

22oz bottle: A sweet hop flower has blossomed in my glass and its beauty and aroma have consumed me. Mint leaves mix with semi-sweet grapefruit to bring a blissful IPA experience.

Um, I donít really know what to say. Iíve been looking at beers for about a year and a half. Finally, finally, Iíve been privaleged enough to be able to try something from Stone Brewing. I know all of the hype about the over-the-top Stone brews, so Iím sitting here thinking, "Wow, this is going to be big." Well, I wasnít wrong, but I wasnít exactly right either. Stick your nose in the glass, and out comes this incredible piney, citrusy, floral hop aroma. Behind it lies a subtle, sweet malt backbone. Iím certainly happy. So, Iím smelling this beer and thinking about how ill prepared I am for this moment. As long as Iíve been waiting (and wanting, desperately wanting) some Stone beers, I get one and Iím timid and unsure. Finally I take the plunge and just drink. Oh how wonderful. The aroma (and the reputation)tricks you into thinking this IPA will be insanely bitter and glorious. Tons of citrus and pine and bitter flavor. Ha, how wrong I was. Sure, there are all of the characteristics of a good IPA--citrus, pine, flowers, perfume. However, the malt is there, in just the right proportion. Glorious, sweet beer. How I love thee. What a tremendous experience this beer, this Stone beer, has been. I want so much more, and yet...

Better than I remembered it. Spicey, malty, very, very hoppy. A terrific Left Coast IPA. HopHeads, gotta get you a bottle. Thanks to herbjones for the refresher. This beer rocks. The color of molten Gold. The aroma is very organic, very floral. The flavor is very spicy and floral with hops galore. This hophead delight has a dry, crisp, bitter finish. An excellent IPA. They should require a liscense in order to drink this beer. If youíre not a hophead, you need not apply.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2003 Had this on draft at Cooper's. Very well balanced and very enjoyable. One of the better IPA's out there.
