Not many bottled beers ever score all that highly for me in the aroma section....but this one is an exception. Nice hoppy aroma, and a lovely amber color. Excellent balance, crisp and refreshing hop flavors, slightly citrusy. A bitter zing throughout. Very good.

Light straw color, small head. A very hoppy beer, dry and crisp. Distinctive hop aroma. Beer is ‘dry hopped’ for 2 weeks. A 60 IBU beer. Finish is clean and crisp. A nice bitter IPA. Good beer, etched beer bottle.

Great nose to this beer. The hop flavor really makes this beer, and gives it a lasting feel.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2011 10/3/02: Over the top HOP-HOP-HOP. My intro to IPAs. 8/16/03: Golden color, light white head. Flowery hop aroma. Flavor is malt, grapefruit and pine. This was once the benchmark for west coast IPA’s, but AleSmith has raised the bar! 5/10/06: Green Flash has raised the bar again. 10/26/06 But I still pick up a bomber every now and again. 10/21/11: My go-to-beer at Valley View Casino.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2004 A hop explosion of aroma and flavor with a bit of mint and vines without any any heavy tobacco or dust. It snaps crisp on the tongue and is very drinkable. A model West Coast IPA.

Amber color with a thick creamy white head. Flowery citrusy, junipery, Cascade hop aroma with a hint of maltyness. Strong citrus, tea, hop flavor bitterness and uncharacteristically but not unplesant subdued malt flavor for a Stone beer. An outstanding beer.

Mmmmmmmmmmmm....this is really really good. The dryhopping is very apparent and adds a lot to this extraordinary IPA. This is the best IPA I’ve had. Actually modestly bitter in my opinion (reguardless of its IBUs) but just incredibly flavorful. The hops are prominent here but very well balanced and presented. My first 4+ IPA.

Large olfactory presence. Rich, citrusy-fruity, & juicy malt characteristics. Well balanced and very tasty. Mouthwatering hop flavors complement the malty aroma. Malt flavors reminded me of some IPAs I had in Canada; had a round, "fruitiness" to it. Lingering sweetness plays in the mouth.

Sweet, floral, citrus aroma. Sweet, hoppy flavor at the start, tastes and smells like unfermented wort. Crisp, bitter, hoppy finish. Not as good as the Ruination IPA, but still better than most others.
