By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

(Stone IPA (India Pale Ale)) Can 330 ml at home, served into a shaker, ABV 6.9% Orange coloured body, crystal clear, with a full finger of thick, slightly off-white head, with very good retention. Aroma of dunk, light caramel malts, piney notes. Bitter taste with citrus, grapefruit, pine, grassy hops. Medium thin body with good carbonation, dry palate. Really good.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2016 Taster at Erzbierschof (thanks to staff). Aroma is sweet and pine with a really dry almost dusty profile. Flavour is big hops, especially for a non imperial. There’s plenty of sweet resin and a nice bitter finish. Fairly standard for the style but really nice.

Tap at Erzbierschof. This beer is bitter but not much more. There is some forest aroma hops in the nose, but really not much else. Carbonation works, the bitter aftertaste is really striking. Not sure what I should think of this.

Can 33cl, a clear golden beer with medium head. Nose is on exotic fruits, resin and almond. Taste is very bitter with sweetness, aroma is on grassy and orange hops, exotic fruits, luppuline, lemon, light biscuit notes, pine, coconut, bitter almond. Quite string beer, almost balanced, good aftertaste duration on luppuline, pine and coconut oil.
