Very hhoppy goodness. If it wasn’t so darned expensive, I’d have it all of the time. hughie (3051), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Bottle from BSF, GBBF ’08. Coppery gold with a white head. Sweet piney hop aroma. Sweet malts in the taste with golden syrup, balanced by grapefruit and intense concluding hoppiness. Classic. wmubronco1992 (180), Coldwater, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 24, 2008 Bottle - Dark honey color. Thick white creamy head. Excellent lacing. Tremendous hoppy/grassy aroma. Earthy flavor with loads of grapefruit with similar mouthfeel. Seriously dry finish. This is right up there with Bells Two Hearted as the best IPA’s I’ve tasted. hamsterglory (48), Bryan, Texas, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Aug 21, 2008 the only thing that could make stone IPA better is if it were stone ruination IPA. hazy, newly minted penny colors indicate a huge dry-hopped flavor. aroma suggests grapefruits, grapefruits and more grapefruits - should i bring cottage cheese along for this one? bodaciously large hop flavors light up the sides of my tongue like broadway marquee signs. this is a showcase, full cast performance beer. every ingredient is in place and ready to perform. even the aftertaste lingers a bitterly citrus reminder of a great experience on the tongue. i love this beer. i would love it more had i never tasted the ruination IPA - comparing brothers: an obviously forgiveless sin. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 20, 2008 Bottle. Clear golden pour with a thick frothy white head. Aroma is weaker than I expected, still a nice hop scent though. Flavor has a sweet caramel base with a dominant bitterness. Very well balanced and a nicely put together beer overall. mcferc4 (56), New Jersey, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Such a delicious beer. Amazing aroma, full of piney, citrusy hop goodness. The flavor is full power - acidic at first, then a hop-splosion with a caramel-sweet finish. Like making out with a gorgeous chick who’s chewing hop-flavored gum. Nice long, smooth finish. Right up there with Two Hearted, maybe slightly less balanced. maugus4ever (121), Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
