brokephibroke (137), Mead, Colorado, USA Jun 30, 2008 12 oz bottle. Large white, puffy head above a deep rusted golden liquid. Complex aroma: hops, maybe cascade, citrus and malt. Taste - There’s the ticket! Suprisingly bitter and creamy, tanic linger with the grapefruit kicking in. voota (761), Melbourne, Australia Jun 30, 2008 Bottled. Poured darkish clear golden with a fluffy white head. Harsh resiny aroma, a bit of honey and citrus, kind of lost me in that it was harsh without being in your face. Mouthful is pretty similar, a light malt backbone props it up a bit, giving some jammy stonefruit and honey, a fair warmth kicks in with a decent amount of passionfruit. Long, bitter warm finish.. Its an OK IPA but there is nothing special to note about it imo.
tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway Jun 30, 2008 12 fl. oz. bottle - tasting with yngwie, gunnfryd and Beer 2000. Golden/amber color, nice off-white head. Very nice hops and fruit in aroma. The same in flavor. I could easy drink a six pack! afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 12oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Pours an orange splashed gold color with a tight white head. Very fruity and citrusy on the nose with a nice malt sweetness to back it up. Nice balanced flavor with some peach and citrus notes. For all of the dry-hopping they talk about on the bottle the head doesn’t last very long. Smooth and very drinkable. Finishes dry with some lingering bitterness, but not too much. Good stuff fredandboboflo (1395), East Setauket, New York, USA Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Aroma in the citrus hop department, some floweriness. Flavor more of the same, airy caramel malt more evident and contributing greatly to quaffability. Silky smooth. I was kind of expecting more hops, so my surprise may have hurt the rating since taking a step back I recognize what a superbly drinkable brew this is. There will be opportunity to correct this if need be. LilBeerDoctor (1480), East Setauket, New York, USA Jun 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear, light orange with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus and piney hops. Flavor of nice citrus hops. The bitter hops were balanced nicely with a strong malt base. Not as bitter and powerful as Ruination, more light bodied. The strong point of this beer was its nice malt/hops balance. Still, I would have liked to see a little more flavor. A very good IPA, though not my favorite. GMUcrew7 (353), Mason, Ohio, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pours a nice cloudy golden color with a off white head. Very nice citrusy hop aroma. Flavor is much the same, very well balanced with a nice malt sweetness. Very refreshing IPA, another winner from Stone. shevanel (9), Arizona, USA does not count Jun 28, 2008 I enjoyed this far more than the Ruination IPA. The appearance was a bit cloudy with a nice light orage/amber color. The aroma had lots of citrus hops with the initial palate being very full. I did not care for the texture being very creamy and oily but the flavor was moderate in all areas with the bitterness not being to overpowering. I also liked how the alcoholic taste did not linger as much as the Ruination.
