Sep 21, 2009 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange, with a deep, off-white head. Aroma of hops, spice, and citrus. Crazily full body for an IPA, with a crisp, bitter finish. Excellent IPA from Stone. Definitely one of the best IPAs I’ve ever tasted.

Sep 20, 2009 Aroma, pure hops. loving it! Bitter hop, alcohol, some fennel and slightly nutty in the aftertaste but fantastic warmth comes through at the end.
Sticks on the palate for a great while afterward.
Awesome beer.

Sep 19, 2009 Copper orange in color. Aroma of pine and all-purpose cleaner. Vinegar, peach, banana, and pineapple with a flowery, over-hopped finish. I like this one, but I’ve always found it lacking a certain caramel balance.

Sep 19, 2009 bottle, pours light gold with a thin white head. Aroma is very fresh smelling, almost like when I homebrew. Flavor is nice and balanced, good malt richness and sweet flavors with bitter and citrus flavors from the hops. Highly drinkable.

Sep 16, 2009 bottle: tulip: this pours a cloudy amber, leaving a dry head about 1 finger. Smells gloriously hoppy and crisp. The taste is super crisp, clean bitters, some esters maybe some young sugars. I sip, I rest, I think... this is the famous Stone IPA?! Don’t get me wrong, the hops are delicious, there is some great depth... but I expected more complexity. Then I read the bottle: "Ingredients: Nothing but Barley, Hops, Water & Yeast." Then it hits my like lightning... the mulititude of flavors came from so few ingredients?! That’s why these guys are so damn good, and why this is such a kick ass beer.

Sep 15, 2009 very mild citrus aroma. Nice golden honey colour with lot cream coloured head and lacing. Nice citrus hop flavour with an almost mild nutty after taste. A really nicely brewed beer! It’s a good one!

Sep 14, 2009 Beautiful golden colour with a fluffy white head. Aroma of freshly cut grapefruit with sugar sprinkled on it. Perfectly balanced - crisp malt sweetness up front, cut through nicely with a cleansing bitterness. Great beer.
