Pours a pretty golden/copper color with a white head. The aroma is great and overwhelmingly full of hops. The aroma dominates on the first few sips adding depth of flavor. Great finish thats full of hops as well.

I remember this beer getting a lot of fuss at one time, so I’ve finally had the chance to have one and now I may understand why. All hops. This beer is loaded with tongue burning hops. Probably led the way for today’s IPAs and made it cool to love hops. I guess a good thing for hop heads and hop recognition. Not my favorite but good for the hop industry from a historical sense. Not quite sure how to rate it, but I can apprecatie it for what it is.

Bottle (in NZ). Pours a hazy light gold. Beautiful fruity hop nose with just the right amount of toffee malt for balance. I could just sniff this beer! But it tastes pretty good too. Plenty of those fruity hops again with the perfect amount of bitterness on the palate. Citrus and stoned fruits jostle on the taste buds, along with a touch of vanilla. The finish is moreishly dry. This is an IPA good enough to punch in the IIPA division.

Cloudy dark apple cider color with generous carbonation. Subdued hoppy aroma. Great, somewhat bubbly mouthfeel. Nice consistency.

Top notch all around. Body was a little lighter than some IPA’s and a bit more grassy than most.

Bottle - Amber/golden in colour. Fresh and hoppy aroma with strong notes of grapefruit, peach and pine. Hoppy and bitter taste with tangy grapefruit, peach and a faint hint of aniseed. The finish is nice and hoppy, but not overwhelmingly so.

Double dry hopped version on firkin at Brouwer’s hopfest. Pours a deep cloudy golden color with a very loose looking white head. Slightly sweet and piney nose with some citrus notes. Very well rounded and nice smelling. Body is a bit thin and watery, but I suppose that is to be expected given it was a firkin. The flavor just really lets the nose down...just not as much going on. Nice bittering from the dry hopping though.

Looks tanned gold and slightly cloudy. Aroma of pine and bread and grapefruit. Flavour has strawberries (!?), lemon, grapefruit, and a tasty dose of hop bitterness. There is some dryness in the aftertaste. Medium to heavy body. The bitterness fills my palate (as it should), but is restrained enough to retain guzzlability. Where did my pint go?
