Very floral, hoppy aroma. Quite strong, will curl your toenails. Mild hoppiness compared to what I was expecting after the aroma and drinking. Still very hoppy, don’t get me wrong though. Quite tasty fro a IPA. Good Job.

Clear, dark golden color with a rocky white head that settles to a thin film. Wonderful lacing. Aroma is primarily grassy, herbal, and lemony hops. The aroma is strong, but not as overpowering as many dry-hopped IPA’s seem to be. The flavor shows strong herbal hops up front, with a decent amount of buttery malts to back up the hoppy punch. Definitelt some pine resin in there too. Medium body. Very crisp and sharp. I’d prefer a little more malt to balance things out, but this is a very good IPA nonetheless. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2004 Draught, at Craft Bar, 43East 19th Street, Manhattan. Amber with a ringlet lacy white head. Super hoppy aroma with a viscous hop syrup flavour & texture. Aroma is sweet then bitter. You could almost say that the beer is obnoxiously hoppy. It does have a certain velvet quality to its palate but I don’t think this extreme hopping does the beer any favours. It's an IPA for the sensory disabled. drewbeerme (2316), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 26, 2007 12oz bottle. pours clear light copper with creamy white head. nose is loaded with PNW hop notes of pine, grapefruit, and citrus. flavor is nicely bitter with grapefruit hop notes and a toasted biscuity finish. light body, sorta watery. the bitterness is there and you can’t taste the almost 7%. this is tasty but it doesn’t finish well, just sorta gets toasted biscuity. maybe this was a nice IPA 5 years ago but there’s a lot of other IPAs with a better hop flavor. Deep golden to orange colour, moderate white head. Lovely hoppy aroma, notes of citrus and tropical fruits. The zesty and fruity flavour is distinctly hoppy from start to finish, on a sufficient malty background. Ends in a grapefruity bitterness, but it is not overdone. Long bitter aftertaste. More to my liking than the Arrogant Bastard. Good stuff! alexanderj (2290), Chino Hills, California, USA

My friend who was drinking it with me said he had had it before and it tasted much better previously. Maybe I had a bad batch, will rerate later. But the sample I had was very flavorless; some hop presence, but very watery. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
