Not as complex and balanced as Bellís Two-hearted, but quite delicious and hoppy. Doesnít bog you down like some IPAs, so you donít have to stop at six.

the only thing that could make stone IPA better is if it were stone ruination IPA. hazy, newly minted penny colors indicate a huge dry-hopped flavor. aroma suggests grapefruits, grapefruits and more grapefruits - should i bring cottage cheese along for this one? bodaciously large hop flavors light up the sides of my tongue like broadway marquee signs. this is a showcase, full cast performance beer. every ingredient is in place and ready to perform. even the aftertaste lingers a bitterly citrus reminder of a great experience on the tongue. i love this beer. i would love it more had i never tasted the ruination IPA - comparing brothers: an obviously forgiveless sin.

12 oz bottle. Pours clear with bright, white head. Hoppy, hoppy aroma. Just an amazing IPA

12oz bottle. Poured cloudy honey gold into a tulip with a medium, rapidly diminishing off-white head. Not much lacing and could stand to be less cloudy (though the cloudiness can probably be attributed to refrigeration--this bottle is ~40 degrees F). Nose is wonderfully crisp with citrus and floral notes, some sweetness. Perfect IPA aroma. Flavor is initially bitter with some butterscotch, quickly develops into hoppy pine and floral notes with a little citrus. Caramel malts become apparent shortly afterward. Really excellent balance (Iím surprised given Stoneís penchant for overhopping). Finish is medium-short, bitter and sweet. Bitterness sticks around maybe just a touch longer than I would like. Medium body on the palate, very smooth with light carbonation. Quite crisp. Perfect mouthfeel for an IPA. For 8 bucks a 6-pack I plan to fill my fridge and drink this with every meal!

Poured from a fuckin bottle into a goddam tulip glass. Pours a hazy gold with more than a cunt hair of head. Tons of fuckin pine and citrus in the nose. Actually, it smells faintly fuckin resinous, almost like good "kind bud". This IPA has a delicious blend of hops with some really fuckin good citrus undertones. Good mothefucking lacing too. Malts seem to have "got the fuck out of town" on this brew. Perfect carbonation makes this very refreshing, and the finish is fuckin long, smooth, and almost hot. Not a trace of an undesirable bitter aftertaste...But fuck all these descriptive adjectives...It is almost fuckin perfect. FUCK YEAH!

Presentation: 22 oz. brown bottle with an "enjoy by" date printed on the neck. Served in a Samuel Adams pint glass. Appearance: One finger head goes down eventually and stays there until the end. It has a clear, bright gold color, and leaves some very nice lacing. Smell: The smell is fantastic, with a dominating herbal hop scent and some pine, fruit and spice notes present too. Taste: This beer has a big hop character, overwhelmingly so. Itís very herbal, spicy and bitter. Youíve gotta love hops to really appreciate the details and character in this. If you donít itíll be just another (albeit good) strong, bitter brew. Moutfeel: It feels creamy, full bodied and smooth. It leaves a tingling sensation on the palate thatís quite curious. Overall: An amazing brew in every single aspect. If you love hops, IPAís or just something crisp, bitter and challenging, youíll love this beer. If you donít, youíll probably be put off by the intensity of it all.

22 ounce bottle. Pours an orangeish gold with a decent head. Citrus and piney aroma. Flavor is not well-balanced though. All I taste is the hops, with a very bitter finish. This beer is very highly rated though, so I will have to give it another try.

I had to drop the overall rating from 19 to 18 cause I couldnít put this one over Dogfish Head; though this one is as close as they come. Great, smooth, hoppy beer, just not quite as complex as the previously mentioned.

Nice golden color. Has a strong after hoppy taste that last awhile, but as a hop head I enjoy that. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 17, 2004 big on hops, somewhat cloudy but rich and full of rich malty flavors. could use a little more hops in the aftertaste area. Nice smooth finish, as it warms becomes somewhat rich and full body. Very good beer to have stocked in the box.
