Visited San Diego great brew scene and Stone brewery kicks butt. This IPA is incredible. Light straw color tons of spicy citrus hop aromas and a great flavor to match and it gets better with ists crisp finish. Great brew

Great smell of hops, citus and pine. Color is a hazy orange, with a white head. Tastes of earthy hops, pine, citrus and faint malt. Palate is amazing. It has a medium mouth feel that is sufficiently carbonated and goes down very easily. Stone once again delivers, a great IPA. One of my all-time favorites right alongside Racer 5 and Firestone Walker Union Jack.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2008 Exactly what Iím looking for in a great IPA. The floral, citrusy hops burst out of the bottle on the initial whiff, and the flavor is there to back it up. Nice orange/amber color, with a decent head. Beautiful lingering bitterness.

Picked up a 15.5g keg down at stone after a tour for the kegerator. Head is thick white and lasts. Color is a golden with hint of orange. Smells of hops, floral, a bit of citrus. Taste is super hoppy, less balanced with malt than some other IPAs, but very delcious. Medium mouthful, just the right carbonation, perfect balance of biterness and malt. Super drinkable when in the mood for a simple IPA.

Fantastic beer. Leaves a wonderful dry aftertaste. Pretty expensive for an IPA, but worth it.

(Bottle) Strong grapefruit and hops aroma. Amber color, 1/2" foamy white head falls to a thin layer within a minute or so, but leaves nice lacing. Citrus and pine taste, with little malt, alot of bitterness that extends into a long aftertaste. Palate is tingly, crisp, and dry. If you can measure a beer by how likely you are to suggest it to another (and isn't that part of the ratings process?), this beer ranks right at the top with the best of them.

Iím a huge fan of Stone, and their Ruination IPA is probably my favorite beer, period. But I felt this let me down a little. *Head* - thin, sparkling *Color* - Transparent, a blush amber *Nose* - Powerful acidity in high tones, bittersweet, bearish, with a hint of sourness. *1st Impression* - smooth and sweet before the hops charges in. Unusually "sparkly" sensation on the tongue, very crisp. *Middle* - roaring surge of hops, gentle decay. *After* - diminishes too rapidly after the glorious middle, but this quality adds to smoothness and drinkability. *Overall* - This beer didnít quite live up to my expectations. It was very enjoyable for 80% of the experience, but the ending left me longing for more. This is a great beer, but I felt a little disappointed.

A benchmark for IPAís. Solid body with a bouquet of hops that matches perfectly. High IBUís but the blend of hops creates a smooth (for an IPA) satisfying finish. Surprisingly bright color that pours nicely into a medium-thick head. Everything you want in an IPA.
