By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Maybe I just expect too much from Stone, but this one I found to be a very run-of-the-mill IPA....if anything a bit lacking. Overall there are way better IPA options in the $10/6pack area for my tastes

Beautiful hop aroma, like lemons squeezed on freshly mown grass. Lovely bitterness and good malt backbone. Excellent.

Bottle. This is golden orange in the glass with a half inch white head, medium carbonation. Thereís loads of pine in the aroma, fresh pink grapefruit, sliced apricot, lime juice and zest. The body is medium, coating, slightly oily. There are waves of lacing on the glass. Malt and hops are really well balanced in this. I taste lots of pink grapefruit, pine, wood, fresh sliced avocado in the hops; the bitterness is strong and inviting. Finishes fairly long.

It is just solid all the way through. It is floral, but not overwhelming. Malty and bitter just like it should be. Not quite as floral as some others Iíve had, which is why it only gets a 3.8. I love Stone beers, but the IPA is not any better than some others Iíve had.

Clear golden yellow topped off with a modest frothy white head. Aroma is largely of grapefruit, pine and sweet caramel malts. Thick, toasted, caramel malts upfront; heavy, aggressive bitterness in the finish; strong notes of a) grapefruit and b) pine; medium bodied with a creamy, crisp mouthfeel.

Bottled. This beer pours a nice copper color and has a very bitter hoppy taste with a dry finish. The aroma is that of hops with strikes me as a somewhat fruity hint. I canít admit to being a fan of really hoppy dry beers and this one certainly didnít change my mind.

Wow. Good stuff. Cloudy caramel color. Very hoppy, without any bitterness. I smelled and tasted sweet oranges and other citrus. Iím a big fan of IPA, and this may be the best I have tasted. Bravo! I think Iíll have another.

Light cooper and hazy body. Excellent head but diminished to a ring around the glass and after each sip a big lace was left attached to the glass. Aroma is crisp, pine, citrus such as orange, and lemon-lime Taste is very bitter, piney, and slight citrus. Palate is crisp pine, hints of lemon-lime, very bitter with earthy tones. Possibly the best IPA I have tasted next to AleSmith. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Stone IPA is a classic. It pours a light golden color with a white cap. Aroma of hops and grapefruit. Flavor is in harmony with the scent. Awesome IPA! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

22oz bottle: An orange gold pour. A nice citrus and pine aroma. The flavor is citrus and sweet with good hop bitterness. Overall, balanced but just a tad too sweet for me. I would have liked a little less malt. But feels good on the palate anyway with a creamy smooth body. Nice beer.
