(Bottle) Strong grapefruit and hops aroma. Amber color, 1/2" foamy white head falls to a thin layer within a minute or so, but leaves nice lacing. Citrus and pine taste, with little malt, alot of bitterness that extends into a long aftertaste. Palate is tingly, crisp, and dry. If you can measure a beer by how likely you are to suggest it to another (and isn't that part of the ratings process?), this beer ranks right at the top with the best of them.

Pours a nice golden honey color with a decent head that kept a thin layer of dense foam afloat through the entire glass. Slight sediment and crisp, with a bitter citrus grapefruit aftertaste and floral alcohol aroma. This is a good IPA for the intermediate IPA’er

Bottle from Joe Canal’s. Poured without any head. Appears unfiltered orangy yellow color. Taste is amazinginlg smooth. Hop aroma not as strong as you expect. An enjoyable IPA out of a bottle.

Nose of the beer contains rich floral and citrus aromas. In the glass is a vision of delightful opaque copper. Flavor starts with a touch of blonde grain. Then a large, long lasting, multidimensional voyage of hops with the best characteristic of flavor profiles they can impart. The beer is a hop lover’s dream. This is the Cadillac of IPAs.

Fantastic beer. Leaves a wonderful dry aftertaste. Pretty expensive for an IPA, but worth it.

This is a truly fantastic IPA for those who love a strong, lasting hop presence, and at nearly 7% ABV it doesn’t lose any drinkability.

Beer good! As with most American IPA it comes off green to me. The style was made strong and over hopped to withstand a long voyage ...I believe all IPA should be cellared for atleast six weeks, I just can’t seem to keep a bottle in my house for more than 6 hours

Great IPA...of course, to be expected with Stone. Quite similar to their pale ale (also an excellent beer), especially with the grapefruit background flavor. Perfect amount of bitterness, perfect amount of sweetness. Can’t go wrong with this beer.
