By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Good in the bottle. Better on tap at the brewery. Tastes of grapefruit and hops. Head with plenty of white foam. Orange color.

Bottle poured into a regular pint glass this beer produced a hazy orange/gold color with a 2 finger head. There was some nice lacing present. The smell consisted of pine, hops, and citrus. I found the taste to be a bit of a let down as the malts far outweighed the hops. It was, however, very easy to drink and was still enjoyable.

Light copper appearance with a medium head. The taste is of grapefruit with medium bitterness for an IPA. Also has a higher malty flavor. One of the better IPA beers.

Fantastic. Dry-hopping gives incredibly fresh, floral/citrus aroma, one of the more pleasant IPA aromas around. Light malt foundation could be be slightly richer for my taste, but that is a very small qualm. Hop bitterness, flavor and aroma are all outstanding. Extremely clean character - killer IPA.

Clear bright amber, with a small offwhite head that dissipates before long. Big blast of hop aroma - green herbs with sweet spice. A little fruit is there in the background too. On the palate, the hops hit right away, with pine, herbs, and grass. Carbonation is a little coarse, but mouthfeel is rich. Malt contributes body but not overt sweetness...I like that quality a lot. Delivers most of the character of the Ruination IPA for a lower price point. In fact, I prefer the balance of this brew to the Ruination. A must for fans of grassy hops.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2009 Re-rate: Stone IPA is good, but O’Dell’s (Boulder CO) is better. Stone: Hoppy, yes. Balanced, no. A little thin across the middle of the palate, and overly astringent. Love the hops, but needs some beef as well.

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2007 Citrus fruit nose. Very prominent hop flavor and smooth as silk. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Just imagine biting into a giant bitter grapefruit... add some water to make it smooth.. and then some alcohol. Thats how it kinda taste like lol... it’s really good, but the bitter taste it has reminds me of grapefruits. It has a really stront taste that has presence. The first sip just make my intire mouth tingle in excitement. The store i went to had this marked as ’rate beers top 99’ which i thought was real cool. Everyone needs to try thing one.
