4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
UPDATED: JUN 23, 2004 All Stone IPA variants rule, but their standard IPA is the best. Strong, complex hops are supported by a surprisingly good malt backbone throughout. Every aspect of the profile has been addressed in a masterful way. Stone's cheesy marketing campaign is completely blown away by the very high quality of this brew. One of the top IPA's of all time..... immensely excellent.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2003 1pint 6 oz. bottle poured orange/amber with lively carbonation and an off white head. Sweet flowers and sugar aroma, generous hop bite and bitterness with an awesome floral taste. hides the alcohol well except for a warming in the back of your throat and the buzz at the end of the bottle :). very nice

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This appeared a lot lighter in the glass then I had expected, but was still a nice pale gold colour. The head was a healthy 3 fingers of cloud-like creamy texture. The lacing coated the glass, to where it was opaque - cool. Smell, oh, the smell. Grapefruit citrus, and pine hops, all in attendance, right where they should be, which follow through to shine in the taste. Firm body, nice balance, sufficient carbonation, dry - can a big IPA like this be called silky smooth?

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Fantastic IPA. Great example of the style.
Appearance is a golden pale. Nice head and solid lacing
Smell is hops, hops, hops. Citrus dominate with some pine and floral hints.
Taste is hoppy, citrus, floral, bitter. Great balance between bittering hops and flavor hops. Finish isnít sweet but there is a dry malt flavor on the very back end.
Mouthfeel is very nice.
Drinkability is terrific if you are a fan of the style. If you donít like IPAís..this one isnít for you.
Great beer. Itís simplistic: hops are hops and malts are malts. Not overly complex but everything is in perfect balance allowing one to enjoy this fine beer in all itís glory. Well done.

Poured out of 12 oz bottle, great hoppy malty aroma. Has a golden clear appearance. Great big hop flavor with nice carbonation that brings out the flavor even more. This is a great IPA.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
pours a clear light golden amber color, one finger of a light off white head. bubbles last a while, with great lacing. smell is bready and caramel malts, earthy and slightly citrus hops. i get a bit of lemon. the taste is perfectly balanced, and bittered IPA. more of an east coast style with a lemon flavor. the bitterness lasts a while. overall, a great well balanced IPA.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A nice golden amber color that is clear. Has a very nice thick head with small bubbles that holds very well and leaves a nice lace. aroma has hints of spice, citrus, and hops. the taste is semi sweet with a mild hoppiness and hints of ginger and orange. The finish is smooth and crisp. Very enjoyable, I will definitely drink this beer again and recommend it to IPA lovers. a great beer for the price (less than $10 a six pack).

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
My bottle is a month from the enjoy by date on the bottle neck. A nice blue smoke and a pale yellow pour into a hazy orange body. A full two-finger, white, medium-rocky, very dense and creamy head, it will last a while. The smell is amazing with great hops, yeasts and malt aromas fully developed, and rising out of my glass. The mouth gets an overload of flavor immediately. Its piney and cotton candy, bitter and sweet all at once. It goes down as smooth and creamy as it smells and leaves you with only a dry, slight lingering bitterness and the wanting of another sip. Its probably the best non-imperial IPA available. No home should be without a fresh six pack.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours a deep gold color with a smallish white head. Aroma of fresh hops. Taste is very hoppy with a strong pine presence. Very fresh taste. Slighter thick palate. The flavor of pine lingers for a long time. A pretty good beer and a great example of an IPA.
