By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Bottle. pours a light golden colour. Aroma. Mainly a citrus aromas. Taste. Very bitter throughout, with a nice combination of citrus and pine flavours, backed by a very slight maltiness. thanks to my dad for bringing this back to me from the states, very expensive and hard to find here. Overall. Everything about this beer is brilliant, dominated by a strong bitterness, complimented well with a nice citrus backing, and a maltiness that doesn’t really add much flavour to the beer but acts to tame the bitterness and the overall flavour profile in general.

The quintessential west coast IPA that defines everything great about the style. The appearance is translucent orange tinted gold. The head is creamy white. Super dank aromatics of pine and citrus. Apricot, grapefruit, lemon and tangerine dance around with fresh cut pine tree. The tasting treats the pallette to slightly toasted malt, refreshing citrus with a long dry pine finish. Clean, balanced malt bill let Stone’s talent for hop aggressiveness shine through. A brew that keeps me coming back for more and more.

Rating v1.1 now.
Delicious impeccible gold pour, admirable head.
More tropical-heavy nose of papaya, grapefruit, and tangerine, hints of pastel candy and floral notes, much less emphasis on the pine compared to the last version.
Flavor, again, presents a profound tropical bottom end, papaya, soft mango, sweet flowers, lime rind, canned tangerine, highly floral and, admittedly, beautiful complex linger with lime rind.
This, ultimately, is a step up from the original recipe, yet the absence of piney-ness has been replaced with hoppy resin (which is similar yet sometimes interchangeable).
This new version presents more tropical fruit than the other. A much more "ripe" flavor, but still wields the bitterness well and dryness too.
Impermanence is the beauty of life. I was skeptical of this "new version", but it’s still well balanced. I just miss the pine!
