3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
drank in comparisson to the 60 minute IPA and Squall 90 minute IPA and Stone Ruination and Stone IPA. its cloudy, super frothy and more orange than the others. wow, can you say pine cones, booze and fruity hops? I say there is little malts in this one, big leafy pine cones on the mouth, I find it has a sort of wet rock or chalky note on the palate as well. it is super hoppy but I find it is lacking in complexity, there are no malts big fruity hops with good carbonation. A wonderful brew but can i say it is actually kinda almost just too much hops and not much else?

Like IPA’s?? Then you will like this one. On tap @ The Press Room. Pours golden hue with a white, foamy, long lasting white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops and biscuit malt. Light-medium, tangy body. Citrusy hops dominate the flavor with a biscuit malt provide good balance. Finish is long lasting, dry and hoppy.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2011 Complex hop flavors here, big bitterness at the end, that ramps up afterwards. Not balanced with malts though, decent

Nice hoppy aroma with a bit of malt to back it up, very hoppy taste, bitter hop finish, solid IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
It’s become a standard for California IPA’s. Aroma is hops, pine citrus. Appearance is gold clear with a nice white head. taste is hops. Where I feel like this falls flat is it lacks a nice smooth malt backdrop, it tastes a bit like hop tea. Palate is also a bit thin. Overall a good refreshing IPA but nowhere near the best.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance is clear amber with a medium white head. Aroma is pine hops with a little sweetness. Taste is a hint of sweet malts, but mostly earth hops and medium bitterness. Overall very well balanced and probably the best IPA I have tried.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Has all the characteristics of a great IPA but the finish, like a lot of stone beers is unpleasantly bitter and lasting. I like a good bitter bite in IPAs but this one is just a bit lingering and makes for a rough drink imo. The hop flavors are great with citrus and pine but the finish is bad.

Stone ipa is really good but nothing too distinctive. This should be the benchmark against which other ipa’s are measured.

Pours amber with a finely laced head. Aroma of herbal and honeyed hops. Medium body with significant hop bitterness. More towards the bitter/herbal hops than some.

Cloudy orange beer, huge towering white creamy head, pretty stable, adhesive with nice lacing. Aroma: ripe sweet mango, papaya, some Turkish delight. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: some citrus, bitter grapefruit, pineapple, bit of liquor. Aftertaste: dry bitter, lemon zest, somewhat minty/menthol. Very complex yet more in aroma than flavour.
