By definition, an India Pale Ale is hoppier and higher in alcohol than its little brother, pale ale-and we deliver in spades. Now one of the most well respected and best-selling IPAs in the country, this golden beauty explodes with citrusy flavor and hop aromas, all perfectly balanced by a subtle malt character. This crisp, extra hoppy brew is hugely refreshing on a hot day, but will always deliver no matter when you choose to drink it.

Bottle from Virginia. The aroma is fantastic with tons of hops and sweet caramel malt. The appearance is deep gold with a foamy head. The flavor is very bitter with plenty of sweet malt to balance. The palate is smooth. A very good IPA.

Refreshing and hoppy., its got a herbal hop presence with medium bodied malts and floral arrangements. A winner for the IPA

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2009 old rating: 6/4/6/3/12- 3.1. pours a semi-cloudy amber-orange with a small foamy white head, good lacing. smell of light grapefruit, dry leaves, hops, a touch of citrus, and grass. taste is creamy yet crisp, grapefruit, lemon, bitter hops, slightly metallic, grass, and danelion, bit on the watery side as it warms, leaves mouth dry, ends bitter.

clear gold with a nice white head. Lots of hops in the nose, some citrus. Taste is similar, grapefruit, piney hops, oranges. It has a very mild soap flavor as well. Maybe some honey sweetness as well. Finishes bitter and refreshing. I could drink this the whole night.

Bottle: Poured a hazy light brown with a semi white head. Aroma of citrus and hops. Good solid flavor but could be a bit stronger considering the rest of Stone’s lineup.

It’s a good beer. Top 3 not sure. Aroma is what should be expected. I would buy it again

From a 12 fl. oz (S) bottle with no expiration date or lot code. Pours a hazy yellow-gold with some off-white head. Good aroma of hops. Taste of hops and a little bit of citrus. This was not as strong as some IPA’s I have tried and in that regard, I liked it a lot.
