Picked up a bomber of this while I was home in Texas back in August... Nose and mouth exploded with huge citrus, piney hop profile... It was hard to find the malt, but it was there in the background, burried somwhere under all that fresh hops... At the time I found it almost unbearably bitter, but would love to revisit it now that I have a better appreciation for the style.

355ml bottle in a tasting between Dogfish Head and Stone IPAs. Big head on a rusted honey pour. Tangerine and chalk on the nose. With big forward tangerine on the palate. Overall disappointing and over-hyped.

Stone IPA poured a hazy gold from the bottle with a decent white head. The hops come through nicely in this beer and I noted scents of pine. There is a balanced bitterness in this beer and as I got further along in my drink I started to pick up notes of butter. This IPA finised smooth with a nice mouthfeel.

Great and hoppy like most IPAs, this pours in a cloudy but golden color. Little head, but very tasty.

Bomber from Binnyís. Solid offering. Great head retention, nice orange-gold color. Light body, piney hops come quick and finish rather quickly, with a slight bitter fade out.

As one who lived around the corner from Stone for over 3 years, its surprising I never fell in love. I just never found this IPA to be well balanced, sure its bitter, but so is a lemon. If your in Esco keep driving over to San Marcos and hit up a truly exceptional brewery.

Aroma is very hoppy. Pours golden color with thick head. Starts smooth with a hoppy, dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This is a nice blending of Belgian style with a good IPA. You get a nice aroma of fruit then a good taste of hops. Very good overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had the double dry hopped IPA only available in brewpubs (so I was told). Good aroma but not what I expected for the "double dry hopped" version I had. Thought itíd have a stronger aroma. Same aroma as the regular Stone IPA it seemed, so double sounds like a gimmick. Taste was awesome like most of what Stone does, especially the IPAs. Didnít kill my tastebuds either. Was smooth to drink, good malt balance to the hops. Wasnít an overwhelming tastebud bitch slap. Solid beer.

Canít believe Iíve never rated this before... Stone being one of my favorite breweries. Also canít believe I couldnít rate it higher... Pours a hazy amber straw with a head that dissipates to film. Aroma is fresh and simple: caramel, spruce, dough, and alcohol. Taste is bitter hops, along with the finish, rather one dimensional. A solid, base hit of an IPA. Would buy again.
